It turned out that a city wide power outage must have occurred, because several of my machines were powered down. I never know the UPS batteries are out of gas until an outage occurs and they don't hold up.

I would like to point out the significant Admin traffic in the recent scans ... You and kbd512 were (apparently) really going strong at that time.
Also just FYI ... kbd512 and I discussed your little project briefly ... he has finished an exhausting contract and is now working full time for a large company. I am hoping all goes well and that he will be able to enjoy something closer to "normal" working hours, but I get the impression in his line of work, 40 hours a week is a seldom seen luxury.
My plan is to work my way through Eloquent JavaScript, adding features to the little script that kbd512 provided.
We ** should ** have something that resembles the Katalan script in a few months, or perhaps sooner if we are lucky.

Before posting details, I'd like to give you a preview of planned work today on the (to me interesting) kbd512 JavaScript challenge. The challenge (in a nutshell) is to deliver knowledge inside the brain of kbd512 through mine into yours.
You have already shown that the pathway exists, by successfully running a little test program that kbd512 created.
I am planning/proposing to build on that success, by adding features to the little starter program until it is able to complete the task at hand, which is unbanning of thousands of TestiDs.
In order to make this process as easy for you as possible, I will set up a DropBox account that is to hold code/files. My hope is that by publishing a link to a file here in the forum, we can provide a direct path for you to pull the file into your system. By using this method, we ** should ** be able to guarantee the file has the correct file type.
There are two primary file types I have in mind. The first is the outer shell, which will have the "htm" file type for Windows.
The second file type is JavaScript subroutines, to be called from the HTML primary. These have the suffix of ".js"
My expectation is that once the hTML outer shell is stable, we can add functionality by upgrading the JavaScript subroutines.

yesterday I set up a Dropbox link for the JavaScript initiative.
If you have time, please download the updated version of the starter script from kbd512.
In this one (marked "OK") there is text added to the display, to assist the operator.
Please download the file, run it in a browser, and provide feedback on your experience.
Update a bit later: I discovered that the script will run properly (at least in Windows 10) if the file is downloaded and then run immediately from the download folder.
In this experiment, Windows 10 offered access to the downloaded file while reporting the download was finished. The link caused execution to occur.
This process is going to take a long time, but I'm hoping these procedures will fit into your busy day.
I just finished chapter 1 of Eloquent JavaScript. The chapter about working with a web server is **way** out there.

Last night's run appears to have finished, and I'll be checking it shortly.
There is a new version of the TestID Utility ready for you to test in the Java topic. Today, I'm hoping to make further progress.
I asked a friend who runs a Mac to test the program and let me know what happens. I expect the run to be "normal", but the details of how one does things on a Mac are a mystery to me, so I'm looking forward to the feedback.
For one thing, the file type of "htm" is unique to Windows, but it seems to be accepted by Linux and Chrome OS.

For SpaceNut re TestID unban Utility ...
With the arrival of the weekend, I am hoping you can find about five minutes to test the latest version of the TestID unban Utility, as posted in the Java topic.
A friend with a Mac tested the program recently and confirmed that it works there. I have tested on Windows XP, Windows 7 and several versions of Linux.
However, no one has yet tested on Windows 10, so I am hoping you can add that platform to the report.
I have two Windows 10 laptops I use for Internet lookups, but haven't tried the little program there. If you report a problem I can test on one of those.
Your earlier report with the very first test was successful. The new version has text you requested, and it contains a first version of code to check the input to see that it consists of digits. The function used for the digit check has the interesting (to me at least) property of allowing non-digits after the digits. It collects digits at the beginning of the input, and stops when it finds the first non-digit.
Output is shown back to the operator with a little pop up message box.
Today, if present plans hold, I'm hoping to add some additional functionality to improve the input verification process.
Your confirmation the program runs on Windows 10 will be helpful.
