Re: The most basic ideological conflict

In the show Babylon five the most powerful races were in the midst of an ideological cold war. The shadow believed in the survival of the fittest and their big question what do you want, and the other race (I forget what they were called) believed in order and their big question was who are you? A more positive conflict of ideology might be without struggle there is know success vs no man is an island. Or in other words, we achieve greatness by helping one another. Clearly in comes down to the individual vs the group. An interesting note in history is a large part of the military success of the US air force was due to the extent that they would go through to try to save there fellow troops. But then the Comacasi attitude of the Japanese was also for the good of the country. Clearly the success of a society is well beyond simple ideologies. Discuss.
