Re: Japanese school issues

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=s … ids]Sounds like a saner society than the one I live in.

*I hope violent crime continues to be a rarity there.  Maybe I'll move...

The fact that 70% of parents approve this is astounding to me as an American.  In the area where I live, just the mention of school uniforms sends a lot of folks into a spittle-flecked rage.  Children must be allowed to express their individuality.  Yep, and if there's no school uniforms they all pretty much dress alike anyway (herd following).  roll

Down here, where Catholic perochial schools are generally looked to as the holy grail of public education, we've had school uniforms for years.  Our Lady Queen of Money catholic school had them, so naturally the rest of the parish had to have them too.    :;):

I do agree with the idea, though.  Simplifying one's wardrobe saves money on clothing.

Now all we have to do is persuade the local Baptist population to number their children, too...

Re: Japanese school issues

an old topic on uniforms and Japan school tagging its pupils

many years ago Japan would have been seen as an extreme but now many of its dystopia social rules are becoming Western norms, other parts of the West see a drop in discipline, wide spread use of booze and hard drugs.
