Re: Writer's Block

*Question:  Can this thread be used in a "break the ice" sort of fashion?  I don't mean endless postings of non-Mars stuff.  I do have some "samples" of stuff I've written which I'm willing to share and willing to accept criticism on.  Most of it is from fan fic.  Might be b-o-r-i-n-g to guys (though I'd keep it minimal).  My more intense writings ... I'm hesitant, for now.

Anyway, just thought I'd suggest a "Hey, I wrote this...here's an example of my style" as an ice-breaker and to get Mars-oriented writing rolling more.

Too bad we can't do Parallel Time on Mars stories ala Dark Shadows (don't ask...).  roll

Re: Writer's Block

Actually Clark,

Would anyone be interested if I posted the entire Short story in its own little area so you could all then comment on it? I know this particular piece is not realy space or Mars in it's setting, but...Im interested in commentary from people who arn't necessarily going to look at it like its a resume for my application to Al Quada.

Re: Writer's Block

Do I need to break it up or will a single post overflow to next page?

Re: Writer's Block

I have some ideas posted under my In the Works post on my Blog at http://www.lulu.com/REBleier

Check out my End of the Universe (in the works) story.

Try writing about something billions of years into the future. It will challenge you to be very creative.

Re: Writer's Block

I'll admit, I have not done much writing lately, but I intend to start. I used to write a couple of hours a day, but know its more like a couple of hours a month.

Were is my Muse?

Re: Writer's Block

My first story is more political battle than anything about space. It like about forty pages long right now. I was planning on making it a series of stories of my character having to battle corruption inside the US Government for the next two or three books. Then my character is called on to salvage US Economy, because it has economically collapsed, but he lay's down condition and one of those condition will be setting up a colonization program for space. But, first my main character Congressmen Lawrence Morehead get into a lot of trouble taking on the powers that be. He start of deciding that he needs to run for congress, then things start to happen in the first book of the series.

The story  title is:

Memoir of
Lawrence Morehead
And
The Court Jesters President

I suppose I could post it here for critical review of it. But, do make allowances for final clean up that will need to be done on it.

Larry,
