Re: Spammer

I think that guy didn't even try to get any purchase from anyone on the forum, just to improve its linking stats for Google referencing. The idea is that the more other websites link to its own, the higher he ranks in googles searchs. This has much omre value than a few random purchases from forum members.

Re: Spammer

Spam posts are increasing again. Anyway to hold posts from new registered members until they are reviewed by a moderator?
If the software does not allow that, I don't think there are too many new registrants each day. It shouldn't take too much time to check the posts of new registrants and to immediately delete their accounts if their posts are spam.

Re: Spammer

That figures just like the other times in the past that there were a large number of spammers even with the old php software....

Thanks for the clean up....

Re: Spammer

BTW... at 6 AM-ish, before work, I tried to report several spam messages, but one has to wait at least 60 secs between reports.

... So I basically said: "fsk this sh*t, I don't have time for that!" smile

Re: Spammer

I don't understand how that happened, I don't even think I did it because I remember your name and email and posts. It could have been me though and I apologize profusely for the error. sad

There shouldn't be any more spam messages now since posters must be approved by me before they can post. This way we don't have a flood of spammers like last time.

Re: Spammer

Thanks I caught it, that user signed up before I implemented that. I will have to go back through the list and make sure others aren't lurking around.

edit: BTW, that was highly offensive and I think we pissed off some spammers with that one.
