Re: Spammer

You got anything against Californians?

Dry Ice blasting's been around for ages. Maybe matthew72 was responding to john11. Or got the idea from john11. Or maybe it's just coincidence.

To secure a planet it is not necessary to colonise it in its entirety, only to secure the most valuable locations. The Lunar poles and Subterran point. Mercury's poles. The equatorial region of Ceres. Hold these, prevent access to their volatiles and anchor points for beanstalks, and independent colonies cease to be viable.

Re: Spammer

no, but it seems too coincidental that they are both form there, and both advertising dry ice blasting.  Maybe they are going to talk next about 'a great company for all of your dry ice blasting needs'.

Actually, I would love to go to Caligornia big_smile

Re: Spammer

The only thing he's really selling is insanity, but he does need to lay off the Holocaust revisionism (which I deleted).

Re: Spammer

Yes it's a long thread and lots of images without any explanation. Spam is advertising, and it's not that. Perhaps it should all be moved to the Intelligent Alien Life forum?

Re: Spammer

could someone lock cyberenforcer's topic ESA cydonia mars rendering?  It is useless nonsense-pictures. Come to think of it, might as well get rid of cyberenforcer, it's the only place he posts at.

Re: Spammer

We don't ban people for posting 'alien-nonsense' we just ignore them.

After awhile they go away. (if you don't give them feedback)

Re: Spammer

Yaknow, 7k spam in the last two weeks. edit: signup attempts. Thank god I'm not doing this by hand anymore... I've said that enough though. smile

Craziness, pure insanity.

We also got a Nigerian spammer who got through and was using the email function to harrass users. In the future I will fix it so that one is unable to use the email feature unless they make some number of posts.

Many apologies to those affected by this scammer.

Do not under any circumstances reply to their email or believe that they in fact are going to give you any money whatsoever!

They registered before, I think, and were just waiting for the forum to open.

Re: Spammer

CheckDavid was also a spammer, one of Rxke's favorites, acting real, but a google search of their name (with quotes) resulted in hundreds of links. Their website seemed innocuous at first but there were hidden spam links all over it.

Neither poster was in the SFS database, and they were real people, signed the ReCAPTCHA, etc.

Re: Spammer

Getting rusty; checked that david (hawhaw!) but saw he didn't yet post or had a sig or website, so I didn't bother checking further....

So... Do we flag pro-actively from now on?  (remembers discussion with clark)
