Re: Bush adminisetration kills Hubble - Funding cut for rescue mission

Read it and weep...

The White House has eliminated funding for a mission to service the Hubble Space Telescope from its 2006 budget request and directed NASA to focus solely on deorbiting the popular spacecraft at the end of its life, according to government and industry sources.

Finally... fixing Hubble again would have been a waste and a mistake.

Thanks for the link to the hubble thread.  I wasn't aware of it. I didn't expect it would be under Human Missions, but since the Shuttle is involved it makes sense now that the thread is over there.

Don't worry about it Astrolabe. They want more participation here not less. I've was blown off too, when I posted NASA's Ring World. Pow! This topic is my possession. Slam the door!

You should open a thread titled "Current Events." That would cover a lot of territory.

Re: Bush adminisetration kills Hubble - Funding cut for rescue mission

Well under the human thread there is one related to space fairing nations that is a catchall for other nations space programs. Was not intending to get anyone mad was only indicating existing threads to which the topic was being discussed. Usually many topics like this have or are the main theme within most of the existing threads. Just do a quick search and see which one fits best. I know that I have done the same thing so do not get upset about it.
Yes; LtlPhysics you are right, we do want more people talking about space in general not less. So welcome astrolabe to Newmars.
