This topic is created to provide a unique location for posts about Cell Phone technology, or Smart Phone technology when communications are from satellites or other non-cellular structures.
Post #2 will provide a quick summary of how to remove an app from an iPhone. The technique might work on Android.
It is highly likely that smart phones will shortly be communicating with satellites in Low Earth Orbit, and I would expect the same service on Mars, since there is no infrastructure there at present.
The technology created and deployed by SpaceX uses ground stations to communicate with satellites. Those too are likely to show up on Mars, because they are well proven on Earth.

Guide: Fixing a Stuck Yahoo Mail App on iPhone
If your iPhone is only showing old messages and won't log in (even after a restart), you likely have a "stale" data cache. Use these steps to perform a clean reset:
Step 1: The "Clean Slate" Delete
Find the Yahoo Mail icon on your home screen. Press and hold it for 2 seconds. Tap Remove App, then—this is the most important part—tap Delete App. This wipes the old, broken data from the phone's memory.Step 2: Reinstall from the App Store
Open the App Store and search for "Yahoo Mail." Tap the Cloud Icon (it looks like a cloud with a down arrow) to redownload it.Step 3: The Fresh Login
Open the new app. It will now act as a "first-time" setup. Enter your email and password. Since the recovery info was already updated on the laptop, the iPhone should now sync up perfectly and show your new messages.Note: If you delete the app and the icon is still there, you are likely using the built-in Apple "Mail" app (white envelope on blue). In that case, you must go to Settings > Mail > Accounts to delete and re-add the Yahoo account.
I'm glad the laptop side went smoothly—fixing the recovery number is usually the hardest part of the battle!
