This topic is offered as a way for NewMars members to call attention to a particularly interesting or valuable contribution by ANOTHER member.
The Admins are working on a "like" feature, and eventually it will happen. In the mean time, if a member makes a contribution that is off the charts, as often happens here, this topic is available to note the event.
Members I can think of off the top who have made such contributions include (in no particular order)...
Louis
Palomar
Void
GW Johnson
kbd512
(and many more)
When you make a specific post here, please include a link to the post, along with a few words about how it stands out.
If you don't know how to post the link (and that is possible), just look in the address bar when you are looking at the post of interest. The URL in the address bar is what you would copy and paste here.
I have noted a few general contributions to try to get the topic off to a solid start. I'll add links as time permits.

This post is to remember Void's idea about balloons at Mars. That idea evolved as others were inspired to work with it, and we ended up with an entire industry ready to go when the time is right: Ballistic Package Delivery at Mars.
The idea is to employ minimal aerobraking and to employ lithobraking to land selected items on Mars.
In future times, I expect that creative engineers will find ways to deliver supplies to Mars at minimal expense, using a variety of techniques that all conclude with lithobraking.
