Could this new docudrama by Discovery Channel and Galafilm Inc., which will begin airing in August or September 2007 be reality of the future.
MarsDrive writer Frank Stratford has a few words on the
Race To Mars
He wrote of the possibility of what could be in the US's future with the current Nasa plan as they follow the vision if foriegn nations accelerate their space programs.
In the year 2030, the race to be the first to reach the Red Planet is on - and China is leading the way. China has stunned the world by leapfrogging over America's long-term plans and has landed a series of advanced rovers and robotic landers in their quest to make the most important discovery in history - extraterrestrial life on Mars.
Six extraordinary individuals from Canada, the United States, Russia, France and Japan are selected for this gruelling two-year mission. These four men and two women must work together as a team, rise above their secret fears and struggle with the sacrifice of leaving friends and family behind. Training and determination will get them only so far, and when this crew sets out on humanity's first expedition to another world, nothing can prepare them for the unexpected danger and staggering wonder of what they will experience.
It may be not only be china that strives for these far distant mission as India is also on its way towards space flight.
The new Spacer crowd has a long ways to go but SpaceX seems to be the closest at this point. Others will follow as the money keeps coming in to do the research to make such rockets possible.

Is this the start of evidence that we need to take them seriously?
India, China heading to moon; Both countries are planning to launch unmanned lunar probes in less than a year.
China and India both are planning to launch moon shots within a year in the latest sign of the two Asian powerhouses' intensifying rivalry and growing technological prowess.
Although both countries deny they are engaged in a 21st century rerun of the 1960s race to the moon between the United States and the then-Soviet Union, their haste to launch suggests more than casual interest in the other's progress.
