Over the last few years we have seen other space powers like Europe and India slowly mature, one of them that is growing fast is China. Which has launched its own satellites, put men in space and listed other space plans. The Chinese space program does have military implications but its isn't all bad and scary like things were during the cold war. China is doing joint science missions with ESA and there have been offers of other joint missions and friendship such as the discussion for joint exploration between 'taikonaut' Yang, Bill Nelson and Buzz Aldrin. However we can not deny the possibility of China acting as a rival to the USA, and the PRC in turn announced its intention to build its own space station sperate from the ISS. Project 921-2 is their space station mission and they have also talked of a future mission about putting people on Mars.

Nonsense, Red Flag waving is all it is...
China is not "speeding ahead" or any of that nonsense, they had enough trouble copying Soyuz and Titan for crying out loud. The Chinese space program seems even more aimless and unproductive as the Russians, about the only reason it exists is to stoke up nationalism and prestige.
Oh, and developing better rockets for nasty weapons like the Chinese heavy ASAT missile. Thats quite a bit scary you know.

Yes and they're not very good at it either, they've had 5.88% launch failure rate, by far the worst of all the space powers.
