If supplies run out, there'll be absolutely no asking for a re-fill: the doors of the "space ship" will be sealed for the whole 18 months of the experiment.

The Ruskies used to also do some of these down-to-Earth biosphere experiments in the 70s to prepare for the Salyut and their MIR space station projects

Yes...

One occasion, things got out of hand, resulting in a fierce fist-fight... Big Brother Xtreme  lol

Seriously, I guess knowing it's just a simulation probably makes it harder than the real thing, because you know you're locked up 'for no good reason' (you're not really going to Mars....)
