Re: Titles system

A.J., are you trying to get yourself banned? If I'm worthless, I would suggest stop responding to me. I don't exactly consider you worthless, perhaps misguided maybe, but not worthless. This is probably a major fault of mine.

But before you stop responding to me, assuming you really think I'm worthless, I would suggest looking at your well thought out arguments, and reassessing your position. Monopolies within laissez-faire are the most corrupt, powerful, entities in existance.

Re: Titles system

Shaun, though I agree with the ?well thought out argument? bit of what you said. I would think that A.J. was just joking with his consecutive posts. A very baaad joke, but a joke nonetheless.

Re: Titles system

A. J., you're acting remarkably like a troll of late, which is quite strange since I don't recall that being the case for most of the time you've been here. What's got into you? It's pretty obvious that I don't want these forums or this thread cluttered up with time-wasting spam posts that are just to irritate people/increase your post count.

Also, you might disagree with Josh on many issues, but that's no reason to start flinging ad hominems all over the place; god knows that most of us disagree with clark (no offense, clark smile ) but that doesn't make us start calling him an idiot, stupid, etc etc.

It is very easy for me to ban people in this forum, and it's far less work than cleaning up after all their spam posts and resetting their post counter, but I don't want to have to resort to that. So please sort it out, now.

I think clark likes that a lot of us disagree with him. Makes things interesting. big_smile

Re: Titles system

You mean you disagree with me?!

Here I thought everyone else was playing devils advocate with me for the sake of discussion! OH MY GOD. What is wrong with you people?!

And for the record, I will have to emphatically state that A.J.'s well thought out arguments are elsewhere. Tis a pity he doesn't post them on this website, anywhere.

Aaron, how is the team doing this year? Are you missing all that fun and excitement, which is why you continue to harass others in such a base and infantile manner?

Re: Titles system

Hahaha, is that to imply that you think you're always right? How about all those times I proved you wrong?

Re: Titles system

Think? That implies doubt. tongue big_smile smile

yeah, i will have to hand it to you,you and a few others have managed to prove very valid points that I may not have originally agreed with.

It works both ways, and I think we are all better for it.

Mt main sticking point is taking into account the serious implications of the environment of Mars, The idea of living forever in the belly of the beast- a modern day Joanas; will in my opinion, be far outside many of our desired expectations.

Remember, imagine as it will be, not as we would have it.

Otherwise, I do agree with most of what you want or envision for a future mars- I am just less enthusiastic about expecting technology to become the creator of new worlds that you seem to envision in your posts.

On a side note, I notice that A.J. has opted to remain silent lately... Adrian, did you ban him? No matter, I'm sure he will be more of an adult if he chooses to keep on these boards, and if not, well, I'm sure others will fill the vacant role of "ideological demagogue"- perhaps with more flare.

I will admit though, I liked that troll picture.  smile

Re: Titles system

clark, if you knew me in real life, you'd know that I'm not that optimistic about most things. But with my understanding of different technologies, I just can't help but apply them. I mean, just today, scientists talk of creating a new life form. I can already see the possiblities. Instead of having plants grow and be processed into fuel, we could create solar panels that are 95% efficient, which convert sunlight directly into a molecular hydrocarbons that are used within 95% efficient machines / vehicles.

And I wouldn't expect Adrian to ban someone who wasn't really spamming with essays and just being horrible. Though I can't readily say that I would have complained had he banned A.J. (I would have kept my big mouth shut). At least A.J. does try to argue valid points.

Re: Titles system

Well, I'm not as pessimistic as I might appear either. wink

I guess my take on techology is that it dosen't let us do anything new, it just lets us do things easier or faster.

We still communicate the same way, just applied differently.
We still travel the same way, just in less time.
And we still hope for something better, even when things are better than before.

I don't envsion a tyrnany as many have accused me, I envision a world different by neccessity, not ideaology. Technology will allow us to change the neccessities, but the things I envision are really not affected by technology.

Saftey will always be an issue- no matter how much technology you have- no matter the redundancy, and that will shape people and society.

Glad to hear you didn't ban AJ, and I share your sentiments regarding no lost sleep if he were to find himself silenced. However, I just wanted to see if it was something "I" said or if it was an action taken by Adrian that has caused his silence.

AJ was never interested in arguing valid points, that is evidenced by his behavior. He was simply reliving a part of his life he missed.
