The Mantra of the Righteous
It’s not the Solution that Drives Us
It’s the Battle to win we Must
A world of Chaos Needs Answers
An Evil for us to conquer and Master
Shale bombs bring freedom
A Stones though and we’re done
Tare down the walls that define us
Burn down the cities that remind us
Of the tyranny the binds
Of the authority the blinds
To anarchy we cheer
To the old order we jeer
Gods hand will lead us
Though fire we trust
To the end we must
The solution is just
edit: Hmmm….I haven’t got any comments back on this poem. Take it as a little bit of sarcasm. I am not sure how it came across.

Unnatural Homeopathy
Barren Rock, more natural the grass
Overtaken by roots, and leaves
The waste of the conquering trees
Covered, forsaken by organic trash
The natural way is too the ground
The fire burnt out the ashes returned
To dust becomes of passions which burned
The cycle of life is not profound
The laws of nature are unforgiving
Life is unnatural
And not perpetual
To believe otherwise is misgiving
Unpasteurized Milk can make us sick
While poison ivory makes us ich
And pretty lupids kill no trick
A snake plants oil can make a con man rich
To believe we found the way
To live superior and say
We have life figured out
The answers we know without a doubt
eat this and it will make us well
Stay away from medicines unnatural spells
That filtered air we breath
Kills the germs we need
The death of nature I greave
To live natural is to die
The pardox of the homothetic lie
On a rocks thin crust in a desert black
Nature is death Unnatural is our track

The Velvet Voyage... poem name courtesy of John Creighton.
Sail with winds that will never fail
On voyage west towards suns farewell,
Where shores unseen wait in the pale
With light beyond the blackened swell,
True star guide with slivered Moon
Through sea foam sky in evening sigh,
Midnight burn with heavenly tune
Where waiting shores of Mars do lie.
On ships of metal, men and hope
Through depths unmeasured towards her coast,
“A dream no more through telescope!”
On waiting shores of Mars we toast.
Journey seen through these dreaming eyes,
Till dreams do sail through empty skies.[/b]

That has to go in the next Mars movie. Perhaps well the captin is staring out the window looking at the blackness of space.

Trembling moon in shades of gray
Sunsets widow alone must play
Upon the stars now shinning bright
In glimmering fields of darkest night;
Oh come return my virgin moon
With midnight light in evenings noon,
Tarry not for the day ahead,
Lays in wait with your morning bed;
New suitor will it ever be
With hands unknown upon your sea
To claim your bounty in morning light
Tearing your moon gown of white.

Broken shattered burning glass
metal fire chrome and brass
bodies litter untread dust
seeping blood in Martian rust
valor spent and hope denied
heroes born as they died
horror here in land of dreams
horror filled with silent screams
none to bury mourn or pray
all have come and now will stay
graves they fill above the ground
their souls forever Martian bound-
Broken shattered burning glass
broken shattered dreams, alas.

Stars, I dream instead of love,
Mars, I scream to high above,
Space I seek, from Earth I flee
In lonely desert I would rather be,
No mans friendship do I seek,
Of joy, what joy, can I speak?
Alone.
A word that needs no voice,
Alone, alone, my single choice.
No man, but moon in starry sky
To empty heavens my heart I tie,
Towards home and hearth I turn away
For lonely night and endless day
And seek what will always be denied-
Alone,
In words forever sighed.

The zygote
In a cell can a man be free
airless island across a sea of black
Alcatraz what security you must lack
No man can swim across the black you see
Condemned to a dream of red then green
Toiling away in the wind and cold
Making my cell my home until I’m old
Glass and brick, architecture of dreams
My comfort is my tight net crew
Vision grand, effort ado
We build from dirt as god built man
This world is new on this distant land
Our children will remember what we went through
We are happy because it was all for you
Safe from petty earthly wars
civilization grew as one like none before.

Breathing air too thin for a plane

Only primitive technology is to blame
The holler grail of aviation and more

The Ultimate High Ground
Arise thy island from the ground
With the atom we create many Suns
The age of the super has begun
Unleashed a power far too profound
Thousands of bombes above the cities
Could rain upon our head
Without consequences of those who tread
In the black sea above our sky
Ware our fate depends on their pity
Once man and now gods
Immune to storms, distasters and war
Shall we be there peasants
And bring them earthly presents
Or be like insects and ignored
Or pets adored
Their island is like a star
An Olympian world afar
Some bow, others complain
And some seek to join them
But we are not at awmen
Shall our tower of bable they disdain
And bun it down in their name
For like them we seek to touch the stars
A world of plenty starts with empty mars
Then asteroids and comments are the game
What ideology do the hold
What society have they foretold
Do we have a place in their endless space
Or are we too late in this unearthly race

A One Two Rhythm
I like 2 you like 1
Together we shall become
Tied by man and woman
Connecting us by a road of black
With romance they cross this distant track
One year we are a part
And then the next together
With this road we build forever
My whome your seeds
With Unearthly dreams we feed
This road joins our heart
When you grow old I’ll take your role
For the red giant will engulf you I’m told
A love that was great but not forever
For mortal our your heart and sole
Till that time I shall protect our children
For adolacence is tough even for those who are driven
A second cradle but not as soft
but become blue once the red is off
And when our role is said an done
Our children’s journey has only begun
From one woman and one man
Our children make homes in different lands
In worlds with many different colored sands
And suns and platns and music and bands

This is a great poem. How did you come up with it?

Thank you.
I don't really know how I come up with any of this. It is usually like a voice speaking a line in my head, or some imagined imagery that floats there.

I’ve been bugging my friend Bob Cunningham (87) for some time now to produce a poem more in keeping with the motivations which drive the Mars Society than his normal output—which deals with nature in general, or comprises insulting doggerel directed at his morning coffee-drinking buddies down at Joe’s Food Emporium … and here (at last!) is the result:
ADEN*
Each morning at dawn
Gaze into the East,
Several moments at least
And study the morn.
With warm thoughts or cold
Will ADEN unfold
As the new day is born?
And what of old ADEN?
What can she teach us?
Are all her vast reaches
With dull minds down-laden?
Do her worlds need Earth genes,
Or what other means
To renew the old maiden?
Search at first light
And be the one who finds
The glow of bright minds
Or the darkness of night.
Is there inquisitive thought
Or is ADEN fraught
With mind-numbing blight?
Will Earthmen ere know
If from ADEN minds gaze
With intent to raise
On Earth a warm glow?
Then our world may awake
And Terrans take
The leap to OUTFLOW.
