Think about your last blog.
It requires much more air to vapor to ignite. Stuff that is wet and very cold will not ignite easily. I think the methane would be more like a slush than a gas in the cold reaches of space.

They believe strongly in the concept that "no risk is acceptable" which is an entirely irrational mindset. You also completly misunderstand and equate a NEA with the rock that Deep Impact is aimed at.

There are countless thousands of asteroids and comets and rocks in our solar system, and there is a small chance that one of them might eventually hit us.

But there is only one that Deep Impact is aimed at. And we know where it is and where its going. And nothing we could possibly do to that rock with Deep Impact will cause a threat to Earth.

Next you will say "but you don't KNOW!," in which case I will save having to make another post and point to my above writing about you being a blithering parinoid unintelligent lemming. The chances of this happening are so low that no rational, sentient being could possibly take them seriously.
