Re: Possible Mars Life signs - Water Amonia Methane

Mars Express mapping of Water vapour is more concentrated in three broad equatorial regions: Arabia Terra, Elysium Planum and Arcadia-Memnonia. This water is mapped in the same places as methane which show that the maps do overlap on Mars and may have important implications for the idea that the planet could harbour life.

Re: Possible Mars Life signs - Water Amonia Methane

Any system that we send will not only look for life in the atmosphere but below ground as well. This article points towards technology for the detection of virus on Earth but I think some forms of life will be very simular.

So just what we needed an international quabble over possible petroleum rights on Mars.

Very interesting article Cindy, on the potential of life under ground.

Re: Possible Mars Life signs - Water Amonia Methane

Here is another methane claim from the University of Michigan. Scientist that are part of a European Space Agency team. Say that they have detected methane gas on Mars, and the findings will be published in the online Web journal Science Express today. Seems like we have been in the know for months for this.

Perhaps, they will find Earth worms under all that permafrost or critters like in the movie Tremors.
