*The two brightest planets snuggle up together on the mornings of November 4 (when they are closest) and 5. The Moon will appear as a waning crescent around this time...so it'll be a triple delight.
However...
The moment of closest approach will actually come during the early evening hours of Nov. 4, unfortunately when this dynamic duo is below the horizon for North America.
There'll be a similar conjunction 10 months from now, but after that not again until February 2008.
Mentions Spica and Mars too.
I step out every morning just before beginning work to look at the sky (and to let "the boss" -- our cat -- out or in).
