Re: Prehistoric Dwarf Skeletons

Try a web search on subjects "Cryptozoology" and "Orang Pendek".

Cryptozoology is on the fringe, but not everyone chasing some mysterious legendary creature in the bush has been certified insane yet.  Orang Pendek is a legendary creature from Borneo and the Asian mainland with attributes similar to Ebu Gogo and your "hobbits".  There is a slim possibility that these creatures are contemporary, not extinct, and not limited to Indonesia.

Re: Prehistoric Dwarf Skeletons

Thanks for pointing that out, C.M.,

I googled, and had to grin when I saw the domainnames... Fringe indeed...
But.
In articles about the 'hobbits,' there is mentioning that the creatures might've been alive until maybe as recent as the 1500's (about when the Dutch colonized the place...) So this might lend more credibility to reported spottings of still living creatures. One of those reports sounded very credible to me.

That would make the third or second "almost-find" of new primates/humanoids recently. (The chimp/gorilla's still alive in DR Congo, of which they now think there are *2* varieties)

Amazing.

Probably, with the increasing invasion (logging, farming..) of humans into their habitats, they'll eventually either show up... Or go extinct, never to be found. sad

Re: Prehistoric Dwarf Skeletons

So lets turn back the hands of time to when the world was a super continent and move it forward the millions of years. This will tell us where the species originated or at least from the cradle of Africa which route it would have used. Also the modern version that remains in Africa would probably be a distant cousin in the pygmy race.
