Re: View from Mars Express

*Photo of Mars taken December 3.

Nice blend of Marsian day, Marsian night, ice cap (partial), planetary features.

::EDIT::   Disregard this link -- Shaun found an error; refer to subsequent posts:

Says Beagle 2 is scheduled to be released from ME tomorrow, 12/19...both will continue the journey separately.

Re: View from Mars Express

All I get is the Elephant's Trunk Nebula.

It's very pretty but it's not Mars!    sad

[This isn't the first time I've had trouble getting the right picture. Is there something screwy going on with my server? ]
                                                    ???

*Oh good grief.  I don't know why this happens with Astropix.  I know things get mixed up if I make a hyperlink (or whatever it's called...it's the blue "http://" key below the emoticons in our posting options) to the web site, because the picture changes daily.  When I discovered this, I stopped posting them that way, of course.

This is why I've resorted to posting the web address itself in the body of my posts.  This method has been successful since then, except for now.  It should be on the Mars Express article.

I don't know how this is occurring.  Let me try again (will Edit):

::EDIT::  Let's see if this works:

[now stay that way!!  <grin>]

I may just have to wait a day to post anything from Astropix, i.e. when what I want to show is already archived.  Sorry for any confusion...I don't know what the precise problem is.

Thanks, Shaun, for drawing my attention to it.  The original link in my 1st post was only "good" on the 18th itself.

Re: View from Mars Express

the hyperlink goes to the pic of the day. If you want to see the pic from the 18th then you need to go into the archive.

Re: View from Mars Express

Thanks, people, for clarifying the cause of the problem!
Now even I understand what was going wrong ... and my understanding of computers is limited to say the least!
