Hello everyone,
My First post, though I have been a lurker.
Anways, I just wanted to link you guys to the trailer for "Mars Underground". It is a documentary/film that I did animation for that will be coming out in Late Dec, Early Jan I think....don't quote me on that. it is a best guess estimate.
I did about 150-180 CGI shots for it, some ended on cutting room floor .
Its an explosion of information on not only Zubrin's Mars Direct but the current state of the Space program.
It is wonderful to watch.

I know you can't see it yet...sorry...but to tide you over.
Lemme know what you think.

Hi, Intuition!
You are the man!
Boy oh boy oh boy, this looks mightily impressive!
People, watch the trailer, it's *GREAT*
Zubrin sounds so... calm, so visionary... "We've got a problem," brilliant!
Again, kudos to you and the team, you made my day!

(Edit:) Ugh, shoulda read the credits: James Dodley...

*Wasn't able to view the trailer on this computer (will try it on my other computer later in the day). Read the "intro" though. Sounds terrific.
Can't help wondering, though, why this is the first mention of it I've ever seen. I scour astronomy and space-related web sites *daily.* Haven't checked the MS homepage in awhile (week?), though...[edit: Just checked MS homepage...it's not there either].

Cindy, if you haven't seen the trailer... Maybe you're wondering too "who's the actor on the picture?"
I did!
To see trailer you have to install quicktime, but IIRC you work in a hospital, maybe system admins won't allow that...

*Is the actor Johnny Depp??! :;): Tom Cruise??! teehee
I work in my home. I prefer not to download/install on this computer, as I use it in my work (am not all that computer literate...don't want to take any chances of goofing something up). My other comp has Windows 2000; will try it tonight on that one.

Ok, you can make fun of me.. because I really thought it was an actor, not the Dr. himself..
Boy, I hope this documentary flies off the shelves!

*Not making fun. Just indulging in a bit of wishful thinking. :;):

*Sounds good to me.

*Me too. But I'm wondering again (sincerely) how aggressively it is being marketed. Again, I've seen no reference to it in all the astronomy/space-exploration web sites I comb through on a daily basis. Unless I need to get my eyes examined or my brain's off orbiting Pluto sometimes...(could happen I suppose). :-\

Oh, it will be marketed well.
It has been under wraps very tightly.
This trailer is not for the public really. Its on Ocule's site which is meant for TV network people to be referred to.
Our Producer is pursuing Showtime, Discovery and the science channel I think. Also maybe Sci-FI channel.
WHen a deal is made you will see ads for it.

Quicktime and dial-up don't mix.
Is there any chance of a downloadable version being mirrored somewhere.
"Yes, I was going to give this astronaut selection my best shot, I was determined when the NASA proctologist looked up my ass, he would see pipes so dazzling he would ask the nurse to get his sunglasses."

Brilliantly done!
Thanks very much, Intuition, for giving us the privilege of a sneak preview. Hope you don't get into trouble over it.
[I can't believe I've managed to view the trailer - I usually have trouble getting damned computers to do anything much!
Cindy, I know you have reservations about Dr. Zubrin and the more gung-ho attitudes to space exploration/exploitation. I'm a little concerned that you might find this creation just a little 'over the top' for your tastes(?).
Suits me down to the ground, though!! ]

*I'd have to see it before forming an opinion, of course. Is only fair.
I am a bit disappointed, though, that Johnny Depp isn't starring in it... ::sigh:: Shoulder-length hair blonded up a bit and swept back, big brown eyes flashing above that charming boyish grin...

P.S.: Still haven't viewed the trailer. Had a severe thunderstorm earlier, most of the evening; I refuse to use a computer at those times (phone lines/lightning strikes). Now it's time to turn in and my husband's shooing me off this computer so he can use it. Will try tomorrow.

Finally watched it last night at home, I'm interested in seeing the final project but to be honest I'm not totally blown away. A little CGI planets and spaceships goes a long way.
Good work, looking forward to the release.

I was able to load the latest quick player for xp and used real player to play the link after it did a module update for the file format.
Great audio track, I also liked the Mars lander.
It was like the one I had invisioned when I started the Earth Re-entry, Moon or Mars Lander and return vehicle. One do all, part of CEV? thread.

Johnny Depp was SUPERB in the NINTH GATE and he SHOULD have been in Mars Underground - no doubt about it
