*Came back to edit: I just now recalled my husband watching a TV program last evening on The History Channel about the alleged "Bible Code" -- world events found documented (or "coded") within the Torah. Supposedly the Torah contains a "code" regarding an Earth-comet catastrophe ("annihilation") in 2012. ::shrugs:: I've read the first book _The Bible Code_, which was published in 1996 or 1997(?).

The bible code is a strange story. There are many web sites that you can find out more.
The ancient Mayans had a very accurate calendar that ended in May of 2012. The end was supposed to be the end of the world.
From other references planet X (Sedna?) is going to return and it's comet-like orbit will take it very close to the earth. This will cause widespread destruction and almost all of the earth's population will die.
Not that I believe any of it but it's interesting to read.

Can we at present take the Dna code and recreate life from it, well not at present so any noah's ark style of plan will still be with living subjects. which means offsprings eventually and mutations not of this world as well.
