http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=s … hday_1]Yum, yum!
*I didn't know the traditional way of making a banana split was a dip each of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream. Every place I've had one (not often...too fattening) always serves 3 scoops vanilla ice cream with the traditional toppings.
What a sweet delight. Mmmm...only 7:35 a.m. and I could eat one right now, I think.
"At the turn of the century, there were no commercially prepared medications, so pharmacists became masters of flavor and were known for their sweet treats..."
As a related aside, does anyone here know how the ice cream "sundae" got its name? I do. :;):

*I love coincidences like these:
Prior to reading the Yahoo! news story, I typed a report about an elderly patient encouraged to eat ice cream.
Just about an hour ago I encountered a patient whose last name is Flavors. No kidding. I don't think I've heard of that last name before...and on the 100th birthday of the banana split??
That's it; my hubby and I are going to share a banana split tonight for certain!
