"ASTEROID FLYBY: Asteroid 1999 MN, a little wider than a football field, is passing through Earth's neighborhood today. At closest approach, it will be 8 lunar distances from our planet; there's no danger of a collision. 1999 MN has a curious orbit that carries it even closer to the sun than Mercury."
There's a link pertaining to its "curious orbit" at spaceweather.com, but clicking on it results in an error page (?) of sorts. Too bad, I wanted to read about it.

Even 8 lunar distances is close enough to remind me how vulnerable we are and to make me feel nervous!
