This position is starting to look pretty good.  The weak dark squares on the kingside will cause you problems.

I just suffered a power outage.

If Bg5

then f6

Well, I was planning to do something simple like 26.Rxa5 Qxa5 27.Ne4, but you are right that Bg5 is better.

26.Bg5 f6

Fair warning, today is not a good day for me to play chess. Too much real life busy-ness. Nothing bad, just busy.

Sorry. ???

How are you guys keeping track of your moves? Paper? Actual chess board? Virtual chess board (ie WinBoard)? Or are you just geniuses able to maintain an image of a whole board in your head? smile

I have been using a small magnetic board that I just leave set up with the current position.  This works fine since there is only one game, but when I play multiple simultaneous games I keep track of the games using  http://www.chessbase.com/download/cblig … ]chessbase light.

Or are you just geniuses able to maintain an image of a whole board in your head?

I can remember the position well enough that I could set it up on a chess board without looking at the moves.  However, playing a good game of blindfold chess is a lot harder than just remembering the position, and if I tried to play without looking at a board I would make a lot of blunders.

if

28.  Nxf6+

then

28. . . .  Kf7

= = =

Mea culpa on the adjornment. My board was taken down and my desk was too covered with papers to set it up again until today.

I did come to NewMars to rant at Cobra about Iraq and post about alt-space issues but I probably should have been working then as well. . . ???

Now its Saturday and I am "working" trying to ctach up on stuff.

As a younger man, I could play blindfold moderately well, but too many brain cells have died since those days.

Now I have a $1.99 set I keep in my desk drawer. I try and keep it set up to make sure I keep the pieces on the proper squares smile but my other work often makes me move it away.
