Personality

This Index Category is about "organizations".

NewMars does not currently have a category about individual humans who are active in the space movement.

This topic is offered for NewMars members who might like to bring individual humans to our attention, or to note their achievements for the record.   There are literally thousands of humans who might be recognized for their contributions over many decades.

In Post #3 of this new topic, we will offer a summary of one of the entrepreneurs alive in 2026 and active in the New Space industry.

Re: Personality

This post is about one of the LinkedIn members whose posts are included in email from LinkedIn sent to our NewMarsMember contact email.

The LinkedIn software that selects members to show appears to be adapting to show more space related personalities, as NewMarsMember clicks on member links.  Today we received a post from an entrepreneur who appears to be quite active in generating content about space activities.

About
Hey folks, I'm Atul Raj, founder of Graviron Aerospace, where we're building reusable autonomous orbital drones that provide space logistics services for commercial, defense, and government customers, including orbital transportation, satellite inspection, hosted payload missions, emergency response, satellite servicing, and long-term space sustainability.

My path into aerospace hasn't been traditional. Before Graviron, I founded and scaled NexCorp, a technology company that I ultimately exited in March 2026 through a five-figure USD acquisition. The experience taught me how to build products, work with customers, and turn ideas into functioning businesses.

In late 2025, I was admitted to MIT. While it was an opportunity I deeply respected, I made the decision not to enroll and instead commit myself full-time to building Graviron. I believed the opportunity to work on real space systems and pursue a long-term vision was more important than following a conventional path.

Today, my focus is on developing technologies that make orbital operations more repeatable, affordable, and scalable. Our first vehicle, Orbit Keeper-01, is being developed as an autonomous orbital drone designed to interact with objects in orbit and return safely through a controlled glide-based re-entry.

Long term, I believe humanity will require persistent infrastructure in space, not just launch capability. Graviron is being built around that belief, starting with reusable orbital vehicles and expanding toward satellite servicing, recovery, orbital logistics, and future in-space industrial operations.

I'm always interested in connecting with engineers, researchers, operators, and investors working on serious space technologies.

Re: Personality

The combined ISS and Mars Society chapters in Houston are hosting a presentation next Saturday. The featured speaker is a just retired NASA engineer with extensive experience in human/computer interfaces for space flight.

Featuring: George Salazar

Invites You  to Attend
Saturday, September 12, 2026

Join us as we welcome George Salazar as our special guest speaker.  Recently retired after 40+ years at NASA, Mr. Salazar helped shape the future of human spaceflight through groundbreaking work in avionics, human-computer interfaces, telemetry, speech recognition, intelligent lighting, and systems engineering.

A patent holder, award-winning engineer, and recognized leader in Human Systems Integration he played key roles in the Commercial Crew Program, SpaceX Dragon crew interfaces, and the Artemis Human Lander System. He also co-founded NASA/JSC’s Human Systems Integration Employee Resource Group to embed HSI into NASA development practices. Mr. Salazar holds multiple engineering degrees. He is a licensed Texas professional engineer, an INCOSE-certified Expert Systems Engineering Professional, a lifetime senior member of IEEE, and a member of Eta Kappa Nu.

His presentation will focus on Certifying Human-Computer Interfaces for Deep Space: Challenges for the Moon and Beyond.

We will learn how NASA certifies human-computer interface subsystems for deep-space missions. Using Artemis as a backdrop, Mr. Salazar traces the evolution of HCI from Apollo to today and highlights the technical, human-performance, and autonomy challenges of preparing crews for missions to the Moon and beyond. Attendees will also explore how future tools—such as digital twins—could help test and refine mission scenarios that cannot be fully replicated on Earth.

Two member organizations of the Alliance, The North Houston Space Society and the Houston Chapter of The Mars Society have teamed up to create this event. The meeting will take place Saturday August 8, from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at the Houston Saengerbund in the Heights at 1703 Heights Blvd.
