Shaping the Future of Space Policy – Dr. Bhavya Lal Joins Red Planet Live

The Mars Society is pleased to announce that Dr. Bhavya Lal, professor of Space Policy at the RAND School of Public Policy and former NASA Associate Administrator for Technology, Policy, and Strategy, will be the featured guest on our next Red Planet Live podcast. The program will take place on Tuesday, September 2nd at 5:00 pm PT and will be hosted by Ashton Zeth.

Dr. Lal has had a remarkable career in space leadership and policy, having served as the highest-ranking administration representative at NASA during the first 100 days of the Biden Administration. She was the first woman in NASA’s history to be named Acting Chief Technologist and played a central role in advancing the Artemis Moon-to-Mars program. Her expertise spans a wide range of issues, from planetary defense and space sustainability to artificial intelligence, ethics, and space nuclear power.

The 60-minute RPL broadcast will offer listeners a unique opportunity to hear Dr. Lal’s insights on the future of human space exploration and the policies shaping it. In order to submit questions during the live event, please sign up here.
