For SpaceNut ... we have topics with "computer" in the title, but none with the word "security" included...
This topic is available for NewMars members who might want to report on or comment about security measures that are required in the computer age.
The topic will open with a report of a new policy by Google Play.
However, computer security is an endless game, because there are thousands if not millions of human beings alive on Earth today, employed or self-employed in an effort to hack into legitimate business, government or personal sites.

Hi tahanson43206,
On Google Play, you can set biometrics (fingerprint or face) as your purchase verification method on mobile devices that have biometric capability. If you set biometrics, it means you’ll be asked to verify it’s you with biometrics each time you make a purchase through Google Play.
In the coming weeks, there will be a change in how you confirm your setting when you choose biometric verification. For mobile devices, when you’re asked to confirm this setting, you’ll use your fingerprint or face instead of your Google Account password.
To keep your account secure, turn on purchase verification for every purchase. Avoid sharing passwords with others. If you use biometrics for purchase verification, use caution in storing biometrics of children or others on your device, as those could be used for purchase verification. Learn more about purchase verification.
Should you have any questions please visit our Help Center or get in touch.
Thank you for using Google Play!

This post is about single bit flips caused by cosmic rays and similar radiation...
https://getpocket.com/explore/item/the- … wtab-en-us
The article includes descriptions of a number of events that are thought to have been the result of cosmic rays.
While there is no way to know for sure if any one event was caused by a cosmic ray, evidence of the correctness of the threat is reported from observations as space vehicles pass through the Van Allen Belt.
Certain critical computer systems can be protected at great expense, and one of those is reported.
