The article compares twisted carbon nanotubes to time honored energy storage devices such as springs in watches and thousands of other simple mechanical devices.
The difference between twisting a single carbon nanotube in a laboratory, and implementing a robust energy storage system for the retail market is significant, and it may not be practical for any of a number of reasons.
