Business Opportunity Small Scale RTG Consumer Market

As the forum gains knowledge of RTG devices (drawing energy from atomic transitions) it has become apparent that the market will unfold in at least two distinct categories.  The first of these was identified by Calliban in posts in late 2023, about RTG devices in their present state of development.

While some might consider small devices to be a niche market, I look out at the trade in small batteries, and I see a massive market with literally billions of customers.  No single company is going to capture more than a fraction of that market, and the chemical battery suppliers are going to be in place for many decades to come.

The second market is one that few can visualize, because the technical challenges are so massive.  That is for large scale deployment of RTG devices that perform direct conversion of atomic state to electron flow.

The market for this category ranges from supply of power to small consumer devices such as lawn mowers, snow blowers and countless other small but useful devices, to the supply of power to a factory, town or government facility, such as a building or base.

This topic is available for NewMars members to document discovery of business ventures along these lines.

Re: Business Opportunity Small Scale RTG Consumer Market

As a follow up to the opening of this new topic, I asked ChatGPT4 to search for any signs there might be commercial products already available in this category.  The answer appears to be no, so the market may be wide open.  ChatGPT4 identified some of the headwinds facing anyone considering entry into this field.
