Re: U.S. Should End the Ban on NASA Working With China's Space Scientists

A new NASA report on its lunar base, says only a tiny strip of the lunar south pole - 30km by 70km, approx the size of Luxembourg - will be suitable for human bases & will need to be shared with China & others, and suggest "transit corridors" & other security measures to reduce conflict situations

https://www.nasa.gov/offices/otps/NASA_ … n_Missions

At some point soon the US is going to have to talk to China about coordinating their respective lunar bases and their activities. This report lays out all the dangers of not doing this, and there are many of them.

The two bases are inevitably going to be relatively close, as the Chinese know the exact same small amount of space on the moon is the only place to put a base for humans (constant sunlight, lots of water). Wouldn't it make sense for the two bases to be very close? That way if there was a catastrophic failure and they need to evacuate one of them, they have quick access to a backup location as a refuge?

Re: U.S. Should End the Ban on NASA Working With China's Space Scientists

Not helping Chinese may have improved their program, it forced China to do its own ships, its own manned program, its own rockets and its own Rovers, it might have been inspired by others and even copied some ideas but what they have made is impressive. They also have a new 'Space Station' and seem to want to open it internationally and even allow 'Tourism'.

From NASA / JPL

This seems like some form of openness and help

Imagine in a scifi story
you invent a time machine

There is a time machine, so you send back a warning and the days after the terrorist attacks in NewYork, you send a message back in time. You tell Americans from the past one day after 911 the hijacking of American Airlines Flight 11, United Airlines Flight 175, United Airlines Flight 93, American Airlines Flight 77 that morons from the West would go on tv and call the islamism that attacked America
'A RELIGION OF PEACE'
Tony Blair and George Bush would be calling it peaceful as it stoned women and little girls and boys to death and sawed people's heads off and gays in the West would call for more open borders as it chucked homosexuals from high buildings

The USA working with an Ethno-State that bans Race Mixing, they have Religiously Pure Laws and Ethnic DNA Race Law, Saudi women are prohibited from marrying men other than Arab citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries without special dispensation from the King. Under Sharia law, Saudi women, as Muslims, are not permitted under any circumstances to marry non-Muslim men and  the USA its perhaps going to help them put Mosques on the Moon and Mars, in USA they even censored 28 pages to cover the 911 attacks...who would think it.

If you sent this message back in time, warning that America is going to waste so much spreading a camel jacking jihad culture to the Moon and Mars??

You told them everything that would happen with your time machine, the Fall of Afghanistan...helping Mecca culture with its Anti-miscegenation laws and jihad and islamism spread across the Solar system and space
A half Black President 'Barack Hussein Obama' would be elected but then go on tv and say
to the United Nations Assembly
'The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.'
Upon receiving this message
Would they even believe it?

28 pages refers to the final section of the December 2002 report of the Joint Inquiry into Intelligence Community Activities before and after the Terrorist Attacks of 911

Peter Zeihan on East Asian demographics.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HeONXVh9G28

Taiwan may end up having the last laugh in East Asia.  Their demography is far healthier than that of mainland China.  Probably because the mass killing of babies didn't really happen there.  China has been able to industrialise rapidly partly because they didn't really have a next generation to invest in.  That means rapid growth in the short term, but then an absolute bust as they litteraly disappear as a people.

Japanese demographics aren't good, but they have solid policies for dealing with the problem.  So Japan will still be around as an economic power in 30 years time.  The mainland Chinese won't.

Re: U.S. Should End the Ban on NASA Working With China's Space Scientists

Calliban to quote a certain prophet Peter does not make one more intelligent, sometimes he's correct sometimes he's wrong but it often just means you have brought into the salesman's cult.

For now China seems fine to go it alone but they also talked of 'tourists'.

New big Radio Dish, new plans for Mars, new tracking ship, investing in 'Fusion' research, looking at The Moon Base, plans or ideas for Jupiter, Neptune, Callisto an interstellar probe

...but...

Yes any day now 'China Will Collapse' I have been hearing that cd record Vinyl skipping and on repeat every since the 80s, any day now it will collapse, not today then maybe next week...or maybe next month....any day now, its not a "Copium" Q-Anon type cult because these words are said by prophet Peter are real the Hopium Apocalypse arrives soon.

I wonder if China will invest in putting the 'Religion of Peace' in space, perhaps they will also be equally as stupid as Russia and the USA.

Yet what happens when Italy and China work on space telescopes? Will Italians be accused by George Friedman types of being part of a new USSR? Will they call Italians those 'Beijing Chicoms'??

A very amusing guy once you see he's part of the deeper spook clown stage circus show

Is he still claiming Giorgia Meloni is a type of 'Fascist Musolini' and going to genocide the people of Ukraine any week now?

Maybe he should paint his nose red and drive one of those small Masonic Shriner cars like you see when old men stalk children at parades

Honk Honk!

Are there strings pulling him for example, is he blackmailed during his gay party days??

What facts can Peter tell you about Socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, ex-Presidents, 'The Finders' cult movement or are there certain topics he's not allowed mention?

They are the worst in Asia and the world, Peter Zeihan clueless once again. However what makes it all comical is how confident he is, when he says something wrong he is still 100% confident like something from a Monty Python comedy.

His mentor a psychic powers Nostradamus self proclaimed forecaster George Friedman once claimed Japan, Poland and Turkey become greater maritime powers, they would join forces and attack the United States?
but don't worry 'George Friedman' Team America World Police would only go down for an 8 count, then bounce back up and knockout all the other 3 countries while screaming

When Trey Parker, Matt Stone and Pam Brady write stuff people get its a 'Parody' but Peter Zeihan I don't think many 'get it' yet.

but what to they have over prophet 'Peter' was he photographed next to some 'Bacha Bazi' and some Urdu Arab Persia party?

and in the end of the day as Rome starts to Burn and people start playing a violin during riots and looting and chaos, a guy like Peter Zeihan will tell you how cool it was for the United States of America to help build the first Mosques in Space???
How necessary it was to censor 28 pages from plebeians and "commoners" who do not understand geopolitik.

Re: U.S. Should End the Ban on NASA Working With China's Space Scientists

Racing to the moon and Mars, US intelligence sees China advancing with remarkable speed

https://www.hawaiitribune-herald.com/20 … ble-speed/

U.S. intelligence officials acknowledge that China’s sudden advances had surprised them. They are no longer surprised. The intelligence community now assesses with confidence that China is poised to succeed in landing humans on the moon and constructing a permanent base camp at the lunar south pole by the end of this decade, four intelligence officials told McClatchy, just as NASA has fallen behind its own deadlines to achieve similar milestones.

It is the first time intelligence officials have publicly detailed their concerns that China may win the race to return people to the moon and establish a lunar outpost — an achievement that could set back U.S. plans for human space travel for decades to come.

“It wasn’t too long ago that China said they were intending to land by 2035. So that date keeps getting closer and closer,” NASA Administrator Bill Nelson told McClatchy in an interview. “I take it very seriously that China, in fact, is in a headlong race to get to the moon.”

Neither country plans to stop at the moon. Both see it as a training ground for missions to Mars in the 2030s, vying to make history by sending humans deep into space and landing them for the first time on another planet.

“Before, it was more of an afterthought — China was nowhere to be seen,” one U.S. intelligence official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence matters. “Today, China gets the lion’s share of intelligence attention.”

A second U.S. intelligence official said that “space is very evident to China as a place they need to counter U.S. power.”

“They don’t want to be the space power of the 2020s,” the official added. “They want to be the space power of the 21st century, the way we were in the 20th.”

“Mars is the horizon goal,” said Scott Pace, executive secretary of the National Space Council under Trump. “Landing on Mars — if they’re able to do it — would play into China’s narrative as the great power of the 21st Century. But having that goal and doing it are two different things.” Chinese officials have remained quiet on their plans for a manned mission to Mars. In 2021, at a conference on space exploration in Russia, a senior executive at China’s main space launch vehicle manufacturer said that Beijing had a roadmap to send humans and establish a base there in the mid-2030s. The fate of China’s robotic rover on Mars, sent with great fanfare the same year but that died just months into its mission, may have demonstrated for Beijing the challenges ahead. “They are discovering that Mars is hard,” one U.S. intelligence official said. U.S. officials dismissed the executive’s remarks, questioning the viability of such an aggressive timeline and whether he was speaking for the government. But state media reported on it. And it would not be the first time that Beijing’s space program surprised the world. “The Chinese say this all the time: Crawl, walk, run,” said Cheng, of the U.S. Institute of Peace. “They invoke this for every major scientific program.” “They take their time at first,” he added, “but culminate in a sprint.”

Re: U.S. Should End the Ban on NASA Working With China's Space Scientists

First detection of negative ions on the moon
https://phys.org/news/2024-06-negative-ions-moon.html
quote

"This was ESA's first activity on the surface of the moon, a world-first scientifically, and a first lunar cooperation with China. We have collected an amount and quality of data far beyond our expectations," says Neil Melville, ESA's technical officer for the experiment built by the Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF).

The first ESA instrument to land on the moon has detected the presence of negative ions on the lunar surface produced through interactions with the solar wind.
The European team working with the Negative Ions at the Lunar Surface (NILS) instrument confirmed the success of this scientific mission that flew to the far side of the moon aboard the Chang'e-6 spacecraft.

The discovery of a new component of plasma at the surface of the moon opens a new window for space physics and for human and robotic missions in an era of renewed lunar exploration.

Negative ions—the missing piece

The solar wind is a constant flow of radiation and particles from the sun. Earth's magnetic field acts as a shield. In contrast, the moon has no magnetic field and a very tenuous atmosphere, called the exosphere. When the solar wind hits the moon, the surface reacts, kicking up secondary particles.

These particles may be positively or negatively charged or have no charge at all. While the positively charged particles have been measured from orbit before, measuring negative particles was a challenge.

Negative ions are short-lived and cannot make it to orbit. This is why the European scientists needed to operate their instrument close to the lunar surface—an unprecedented mission for a particle detector.
