Bentley bills himself as an “auto-didact.” He dropped out of middle school, but later got his GED and spent some time in the U.S. Army. He then waited tables and partied for years on South Padre island, on the Texas coast, playing guitar in a group called the Asbestos Band. He says his preferred genre was “cow punk” — a mix of Johnny Cash and Johnny Rotten. But when that music failed to pack in the crowds, Bentley recalls, they started covering hits from hot MTV bands like ZZ Top, the Cure, and even Bryan Adams.

Known then as “Bongo” rather than “Texas,” Bentley followed a girlfriend to Minnesota, according to profile in Texas Monthly. There, Bentley got deep into the world of marijuana legalization, running for Senate in 1990 as a member of the pro-pot Grassroots Party, whose motto was “lower taxes, higher taxpayers.” He garnered nearly two percent of the statewide vote.

He also changed from socialist to communist

'his socialist leanings hardened into communism. “I went with Pastors for Peace, with Medea Benjamin from Code Pink, and a bunch of those guys,” Bentley recalls. On the island, he met a captain in the Cuban army who told him that “a communist is someone that’s willing to fight for socialism.”  '

Like Putin, Bentley decries the Ukranian military as the sum of all evil, blasting them as “genuine, mass-murdering Nazis.” Bentley embellishes that the Ukrainian ranks are also swelled by “thousands of ISIS cannibals.” 

Invocations of Nazis are still politically potent in Russia, which suffered unfathomable losses at the hands of Hitler’s armies in World War II. But while Ukraine, like many nations, has extremist right-wing factions, there is no evidence its military is teeming with Nazis. To the contrary, Ukraine’s popularly elected president is Jewish, and several of his relatives were killed in the Holocaust. The United States Holocaust Memorial and Museum has denounced Putin for having “misrepresented and misappropriated Holocaust history” by “claiming falsely that democratic Ukraine needs to be ‘denazified.’” Shortly after I spoke to Bentley, news broke that Russian forces had shelled a Holocaust memorial in Kyiv.

Carrying on a conversation with Bentley is challenging. Though we share a common language, he’s committed himself to an alternate reality. “With U.S. politicians and mainstream media, including Rolling Stone,” he tells me, “everything they say is a lie. It is 180 degrees — the opposite direction from what is true.”

In his professional life, Bentley wasn’t just promoting pot, he was dealing it — importing substantial quantities of weed from Texas to Minnesota. And by 1996, Bentley got tripped up by the DEA. He was arrested for felony trafficking and sentenced to federal prison. But only months before he was scheduled to be released in 1999, according to court documents, Bentley broke out of the minimum security facility where he was being held. “I didn’t have to dig a tunnel or take anybody hostage,” he recalls. “But I did escape from prison.”

While I'm not positive that the vehicle in this video is a German Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG), the profile does seem to match up with other pictures of the vehicle, and we do know that several of these systems are in Ukraine.

Striking back ‘Robin Hood’ hacker steals rich Russian crypto funds, gives to poor Ukraine

The crypto experts said the hacker had transferred the stolen bitcoins to the addresses of Ukrainian volunteers.

The mystery user seems to have been able to put blockchain and bitcoin technologies to work against the aggressor state. Using their arcane skills, the hacker gained access to hundreds of crypto wallets, which likely belonged to Russian law enforcement agencies.

Chainalysis analysts believe that the hacker used a feature of documenting transactions in the bitcoin blockchain to identify 986 wallets controlled by the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (GRU), the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), and the Federal Security Service (FSB).

The analysts did not disclose which feature it was.

At the same time, the hacker left messages in Russian to the owners of the wallets, in which he states that these wallets were used to pay for the services of hackers working for Russia.

It is not known to what extent these allegations are true. Western analysts consider it indisputable that Russian intelligence services use hackers to conduct numerous operations.

Chainalysis experts could only partially confirm the hacker's claims.

They note that at least three of the allegedly Russian wallets have already been linked to Russia by third parties. Two of them were allegedly involved in the Solar winds attack, and the third paid for servers used in Russia's disinformation campaign in the 2016 elections.

After looking on funker530 it seems some Leopard 2 were damaged, there is a claim by Russian they captured a full German tank, anotehr says a Leopard was damaged and defeated after all but it is difficult to say what level of damage they took and if the tanks were taken out or if the crews got out and survived.

The footage appears to be from a helmet camera worn by a Ukrainian Foreign Legion soldier. Most of the squad appears to be equipped with western weapons – the camera operator carries an AR platform, and early in the video one of his squad-mates appears to carry a suppressed M249 Squad Automatic Weapon. A few carry AKs in addition to their ARs. Several of the squad members sound as though they are American or Canadian, although one speaker might be from the UK, and some Ukrainian can be heard towards the end of the video. The date and exact location are unknown, although the original post claims that the unit is fighting in Bakhmut. The condition of the streets and buildings certainly supports that assertion – the city is shattered, reminiscent of Fallujah or Stalingrad.

The recruitment campaign is an effort to bolster Russia's military forces, which have been bogged down into a less-than-successful invasion of Ukraine for the last 16 months. The Russian government does not want to conduct a draft of its citizens, which could be disastrous to public morale. Rather, with this effort by Roscosmos and other state corporations, such as Gazprom, the Russian government appears to be attempting to persuade its citizens to join the military rather than compel them.

I didn't know Russia was using such old stuff, if they are flying old post WW2 Ilyushin that is a really old design, it has a big window looking nose like the old Boeing B-29 Superfortress, or German Heinkel He 111 so I'm not sure what this aircraft could be used for today, maybe watching traffic jams on the road or reconnaissance watching the environment but its design would be totally outclassed by modern weapons.
