Keeping up with the past where a human rover was the ability that Nasa used to travel across the moon's surface in the Apollo era.
SpaceX’s Starship will carry an SUV-sized rover to the Moon in 2026
Astrolab is building a vehicle it hopes will one day carry equipment, supplies and people across the lunar surface. The Flexible Logistics and Exploration (FLEX) rover is about the size of a Jeep Wrangler, making it a bit bigger than NASA’s Perseverance rover on Mars. It also features a robotic arm for assisting with cargo and can travel up to 15 miles per hour. Oh, and FLEX can carry up to two astronauts.
Space Startup to Send a Rover to the Moon on Board a SpaceX Starship
Space startup Astrolabs has signed a contract with SpaceX to send its rover to the Moon as soon as 2026 on board the space company's Starship rocket.
The startup is hoping to have its Flexible Logistics and Exploration (FLEX) rover be a part of the 2,200-pound payload scheduled to be delivered to the lunar surface by SpaceX's mammoth super-rocket in a matter of just over three years from now — an ambitious plan considering SpaceX has yet to launch its rocket into orbit once.
The goal is to deliver the rover to near the Moon's south pole.
This view reminds me of the Nasa rover that they wanted to send.
