Some will enjoy a parade or football

Sure we think of the Pilgrims

but most think about the feast

Happy Thanksgiving to all the US posters. Also for Canadians as well but I have a feeling you might choose a different day...bit like your Canadian Football...some subtle rule changes to make sure no one mistakes Canadians for their Southern (and North Western) neighbours!

Re: Happy ThanksGiving

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and was able to visit or at least call some of their family members.

My family experimented with frying the turkey this year.  It was tasty.  In addition to the traditional apple pie, my wife baked a pineapple pie this year.  I had a slice of both.  I had an opportunity to see my parents' new house as well.  All of my siblings and their children were there.  It was good to see the kids, and to see how much they've grown since we last saw them, as well as the new additions to the family.  It was a much needed reminder that life goes on, and to keep on truckin'.

Re: Happy ThanksGiving

My family had plans that got changed last friday when we found out that Son up north had been exposed to covid by several coworkers that had traveled to the great lakes region of the country. So we stayed home and made lots of calls to each other as well as many text messages. He seems to be ok so far and would appear to be out of the woods at this point.

Re: Happy ThanksGiving

Happy thanksgiving to American members.  Also, my commiserations to any turkeys reading this forum :-)

A few weeks ago, I was in Plymouth Barbican.  Probably walking the same streets that the pilgrims would have walked.  It would be quite something to have seen Plymouth back then.  I wonder if future Mars men will celebrate the arrival of pilgrims from Texas, fleeing the lock down restrictions of the evil and oppressive Biden :-) in much the same way as Americans celebrating Thanksgiving and the pilgrims fleeing religious persecution in England?  I would like to think Mars would develop similar traditions.  They probably won't celebrate with turkey, but who knows.

Re: Happy ThanksGiving

Well, I have the turkey thawing but it looks like I am going to need to help it along with the process so that it will cook correctly and not need extra time so as to feed the family on Thanksgiving Day.

With the recent issues in the world that so far have not touched our many worldwide members we are surely thankful.

Re: Happy ThanksGiving

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Enjoy the turkey and football games.

If you're going to drink, then make sure you have a sober driver to take you home.

Last but certainly not least, be grateful for all the blessings of prosperity bestowed upon us by our neighbors and ancestors.  It was not easy to get to where we are today, but we made it just the same.
