Los Angeles Blacked out?
The blackout came a day after ABC aired a videotape of a purported al-Qaida member making terrorist threats against Los Angeles and Melbourne, Australia, on the fourth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

New York City Runs Nuclear Attack PSA

Mars_B4_Moon,
I especially like the part about "following the internet and TV" after a nuclear warhead detonation.
With what phone? With what TV? Do those things survive temperatures hot enough to set the building on fire or blast over-pressure sufficient to level anything short of a granite bunker?
Everyone saw what happened to the people and materials inside the World Trade Center towers following the jet airliner impacts of 9/11, right?
Imagine that's every single building in the entire city, for dozens of square miles.
We could worry about the lack of electricity / broadcasting towers / etc, only after accounting for the fact that most combustible materials will be incinerated or obliterated in the same way the conventional explosives obliterate buildings. At the temperatures involved, humans and cell phones and television sets are classified as "combustible materials".
What's the point of having perfectly good brain cells if you never use them?
