Marscoin

From 03;18:

First time I've heard about this - "Marscoin".

If Musk is really planning a Mars digital currency I think  that is really posiitive and suggests to me he is thinking in terms of creating a viable single planetary state on Mars at the earliest opportunity.

Re: Marscoin

I see Musk talks a lot about the Coin with the Japan dog on its face, to be honest I know little of crypto they are "blockchain technology" which becomes a distributed ledger and then there are cryptocurrencies which are applications of blockchain tech. Most things are bubbles or faith or speculation or fiat, I remember some fringe guys years back Paul Krugman, "Max" Keiser saying invest in crypto but some of them they were touting Bitcoin as the "perfect currency"....its not the perfect currency but anyways I didn't invest, I did not gamble and I did not make millions. Bitcoin has seen a lot of ups and downs lately seen lots of fluctuation, some say it gives people more freedom but that won't stop the FBI or IRS or NSA tracking people down, it seems if they really want to catch some guy a lot of this crypto is NOT "anonymous" and what happens to people living in a place like Turkey and sudddenly the government wants to ban your entire crypto currency? Bitcoin seems to have a lot of speculation and it has this bouncing value that seems to zoom up and down with astronomical type speeds, yes its up and its down lot of money on them, by speculating daily and your stuck in this day trader addiction like some stimulated Wall St lunatic trying to make money on that stock floor. During the economic socialist collapse in Maduro's economy some young people started to turn to virtual coins and gaming to make money, English speaking peoples and Japanese in gaming online rooms noticed there were some South American Spanish speakers behaving in a strange way, they were not playing the game but were grouping together in Spanish and chatting to each other while collecting stuff, the Venezuelans would spend hours on end playing massively multiplayer online roleplaying games known as MMORPGS to collect stuff like wood or tools or pots or stone to trade for virtual silver and gold, extract gold coins the currency in RuneScape or crystal ones Tibia. The people inside the game normally have a free market and they sell these for real money, via intermediary websites, to other gamers, who spend them on such virtual valuables as weapons, armour and magic potions but the Venezuelan started to corner and rig the market in order to cash out the coins for real money and feed themselves and their family as the Venezuelan economy collpased. The Venezuelan government made actions to try ban Bitcoin and has tried to impose the use of Petro their own version of a crypto currency linked to oil and gasoline. What is out there that is better than a Bitcoin?... well maybe you got otrher options like Ethereum, Litecoin, Ethereum, Peercoin and there is also Monero. Dogecoin started as a joke coin but became a real thing, it started to Sponsor Nascar races, there have been Several cases of people using their employers' or universities' computers make Dogecoin Crypto or people using other peoples computers to mine Dogecoin have been discovered https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/201 … ocurrency/ , https://www.theguardian.com/technology/ … udent-mine

The internal economic trade at the South Pole

Seems they like buying snacks, towels, soap, hygiene, cups, pens, golf balls, clocks, hats, shirts, alcohol, tobacco, energy drinks, plush toy teddy bear animals, cookies, biscuits, chocolate, soda, candy...with humans inside a Mars colony you could probably have an internal economy with trade of mugs, pencils, booze, t-shirts, stuffed animal toys.
