So this is how we celebrate from Orbit.... Astronauts beam Christmas message of hope to Earth from space station
The Expedition 64 crew members are taking the day off, but NASA astronauts Mike Hopkins, Victor Glover, Shannon Walker and Kate Rubins, and Japanese space program astronaut Soichi Noguchi still took some time to send a message of "resilience" back home during a particularly difficult holiday season.

It's the day before Christmas and as always I have lots to do in packages to wrap and getting things ready for travel tomorrow.
Still celebrating at home for those son's which are with my wife and I today. Will make plenty of calls to the others.
Nearly had nothing to celebrate as we had an electric breakdown of wires in the kitchen yesterday but was able to kill the circuit and get it out before it got going. Will need to replace a few small appliances but we are safe and still with a home to be thankful for. I will overcome as always the difficulties that life throws at me.
Now to set out to make the meal for the family.
Merry Christmas to all...

Happy Christmas and Yuletide to all members. It is a time to relax, recharge and eat mince pies.

Did you know there is a crazy film called 'Christmas on Mars' it was very underground and indie screened in strange places like former Ukrainian Socialist Social Club in New York City, if you thought 2001 Space Odysee was weird then you should see the B-movie trailer for this film which featured members of the alternative rock band the Flaming Lips
I often wondered if Christmas will be marked in space, a totally different place in our solar System yet festivals and religious celebration were already marked on the ISS, on Skylab and on MIR. I guess cultures will compete and maybe it depends on what culture goes out there to colonize Mars, Titan, Europe and the Moon. Maybe there will be Christan culture or Buddhist or Judeo-Christian value, I guess 'Messianic Judaism' is a thing, there are also many Korean religious churches perhaps the Western influence on South Korea or if any Christian culture were to go to space you also have the big religions like Catholic or Protestant or Eastern Orthodox. There are different forms of Christian faith like Quaker or Pagan or Deism so maybe this culture will export to space by whatever faith culture dominates that new temple in space. Watching the JWST launch now streamed on NASA tv, 'Décollage' ! I hear positive stuff from the French control 'Le lancement a eu lieu, tout est normal. lancé avec succès! '. Sounds good so far but it still has a long way to go to arrive at the L-2 point. A nice Christmas present for those who worked on JWST, solar array unfolded, power is being supplied. If the Aboriginal people of Australia know its Christmas then perhaps they might also Know It’s Christmas—On Mars?
