My opinion is that it is best to try to get expert opinions on this and similar topics, not hold to old notions.

So, it is currently thought that 3 main groups blended to create Europeans in the past.

They confirm that one of the 3 is closely related to Native Americans of America.

Enough, hopefully nobody will bring ugly baggage to this.

Presumably that would be the Siberian area of Indo-Europeans...?

There is evidence for both Polynesian contact with South America and also African contact with America.

It's not so surprising.  There is a pretty credible narrative that Native Americans in their canoe got blown off course and ended up in Ireland (Galway Bay I recall) in the 1400s. Some think Columbus found out about this as he was involved in voyages to that area. If a group including males and females of fertile age gets blown by the winds to a new continent, they could reproduce.  People can survive a long time out on the sea by drinking their own urine.

Very brave Louis.  This is a dangerous place, and we need care.

The notion of race, is useful in tracking things that are not recorded on media, paper or modern.  So many entities have assigned intentions to power of judgement, that it is quite easy to fall though thin ice.  Still, it is moral for us to seek truth, if we seek to avoid careless damage.

With great care, however, we may sneak a few rays of light though.  Else, the deceivers may seek to exploit our mistakes for political power.

In many cases it is better to be silent about truth, in case we may put the innocent at risk.

You might inquire about Columbus in Iceland. 

I could say a great deal more, but again, we do not want to empower the wicked if we have a choice.  To be careless about these things can be to give a wicked force empowerment.

On the subject of filmed lectures sometimes I do not like to watch them on cam, you are stuck with one view point on the cam maybe lower definition, it can be like arriving late and being far down at the back of the class trying to squint and figure out what graph, author or slides or paper they are refering to, while if you are present in person you can move your head around and see on screen the true prestation, perhaps even raise your hand and ask questions. Filmed lectures and presentations however can be a great resource.
but I think the true reddit died with the suicide/death of Aaron Swartz, new reddit is a totally different machine, it once could have taken over the net but it is now self destroying and self censoring...it has its own agenda ....some weird criminal perverted things however they do not censor. Biology discussions at reddit were often censored

I outright refuse to ever use reddit again, it has a lot of weird left vs weird right political stuff, the Alt-Right stuff, I don't support any party and people can vote who they want but I refuse to  use it after the Ashton "Aimee" Challenor event. Politically I know reddit also banned voters who supported Trump, right or left, dumb, good or idiot the President of the United States does not deserve to be censored by BigTech like reddit or twiter. For those who do not know what I'm talking about when refering to reddit's outright filth and corruption, it seems some of the Mods and Admin were actual criminals or linked with child abusers

Ms or Mars or Pronouns Challenor he / she / it lived with him at their terraced house some of the time while all this other kidnapping and child abuse was going on.
