Long time no see

Hiya folks,

I just wanted to say hi. I found this website again when searching the internet for my username. I see that I last visited this site in 2006. That can be correct as around that time I got a new job and was pretty busy with that.

It's nice to see that in the last 15 years the website is still running and even my login still works. Good work admins!!!

In the coming days/weeks I will browse through the forum and see what y'all have been talking about the past 15 years.

Greetings

Re: Long time no see

For smurf975 .... in honor of your return, I would like to offer a post that is about seeing ...

In this case, the reference is to the view i see every morning while preparing the daily Mars Calendar post.

https://theskylive.com/mars-tracker

Next up: mini-Boomer HIP 42600 Magnitude 6.75 below path Day 0 about 15 hours ahead
The view today is enhanced with a number of mini-Boomers! I counted 8 in a quick scan
Nearby Galaxy NGC 2624 below path Day 1 about 11 hours behind
Galaxy NGC 2625 RA 8h 38m 23.1s below path Day 1 about 8 hours behind
Star TYC 1395-2333-1 Magnitude 11.38 below path Day 1 about 11 hours behind

It came to me this morning, as I was thinking about the Large Ship proposed by RobertDyck, while looking at the view above, that while the passengers on the Large Ship cannot actually "look" at the sky because the ship is rotating once every 20 seconds, they ** can ** look at computer generated images such as the one on offer by theskylive.com, ** and ** that view ** can ** be enhanced with identification of stars and galaxies just as provided by theskylive.com.

Shortly after you last visit the sever crashed and it took quite a bit before it got resolved, even after that we have had a few more changes hopefully for the better in the Mars society hosting and running the forum with the help of the die hard contributors....

Its good to see you back and I hope you will continue to participate as you once did.
