Seems Those Infected With COVID-19 Are Immune for Just 3 Months, CDC Says
The global spread in question is what researchers call an infodemic – an oversupply of information, carrying with it fake news, rumours, and conspiracy theories that put people in harm's way. Bad ideas and poor advice, shared amongst friends, family, and total strangers alike.
And yet meet the resistance and their actions A woman who did not wear a mask while on a flight allegedly struck an airline gate agent in the face after being denied permission to board a second flight,

A virus that didn't even exist a year ago is now killing more Americans than Alzheimer's disease, accidents and diabetes. Covid-19 is now the No. 3 cause of death in the US ahead of accidents, injuries, lung disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's, and many, many other causes. But testing to find and isolate cases has dropped off

a wedding reception is Maine's first outbreak directly linked to a social gathering.
The person, whose name was not released, was recently admitted to the Millinocket Regional Hospital (MRH) following the August 7 wedding reception. Hospital officials said she died early Friday afternoon.
The Maine CDC reported Saturday that 41 coronavirus-positive individuals were linked to the wedding, with an additional 12 individuals presumed positive. The hospital said it has tested 366 people in connection with the party. Results for 103 people are pending. Some 83% of patients reported experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

COVID Is Mutating Again. Here's What You Need to Know About the New Strain
So far, scientists have counted six main strains of Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes coronavirus, and each of them presents with different traits and trajectories. Known as the "D614G strain" or more commonly as the "G strain," the newest mutation of Sars-CoV-2 is found most commonly right here in North America, though it's gradually becoming the dominant strain across the world.

For SpaceNut re entire topic ....
Today I reflected on the fact that everyone who goes outside on Mars is likely to be wearing a mask.
Unlike in other (to my way of thinking) more sensible countries, Americans have a significant percentage of members of the population who think that wearing a mask is a violation of their right to behave in a thoughtless, careless manner.
The great success of the recent Sturgis rally has resulted in the City officials having enough money to give a virus test to each and every one of the 7,000 residents who chose to stay in town during the event.
Meanwhile, 250,000 of the temporary guests are on their way at 60+ miles an hour in their hurry to spread the virus to every corner of the nation.
It seems likely the US is off to an exciting close of the summer, going into flu season!

The us magical corona deaths are now above 181,000 Americans. This week’s national ensemble forecast predicts that 3,700 to 9,600 new COVID-19 deaths will be reported during the week ending September 12 and that 187,000 to 205,000 total COVID-19 deaths will be reported by that date.

A day after book excerpts and audio recordings showed that President Trump knowingly minimized the risks of the coronavirus response to the public health crisis, directly linking it to the loss of American lives. President Trump is an individual who is not concerned about the health, safety and well-being of the American people and is frankly engaged in a reckless disregard of the lives and health and well being of the people of our country. President Trump on Wednesday has acknowledged that he misled the American public about the threat of COVID-19 earlier this year in order to “reduce panic” about a virus that has so far killed nearly 200,000 people in the U.S. What we needed was fact and leadership to make decisions with. As it was once it bloomed it lead to mass exodus from the hot spots which gave aid to the spread of the virus...

SpaceNut,
If you get to live for 80 years, the better part of a century, do you consider that to be a reasonably good run at life?
People like Freeman Dyson may be doing useful work well into their 90s, but how many of us will be unaware of our own existence by that point in our lives?

Interesting video.

It strongly suggests that the coronavirus crisis has been overblown. The excess deaths we have seen this year have not been atypical of a year following a mild flu season. The lock downs, social distancing, mask wearing, restrictions on social gathering; have all been completely unnecessary and even counterproductive. The economic damage inflicted has been enormous and we have nothing to show for it.
I had originally thought that coronavirus was a bio weapon. Yet all of the economic damage resulting from this virus has been entirely self-inflicted. There would appear to be no need for any of the restrictions imposed on society in an attempt to combat this virus. In hindsight, the best strategy on discovery of this virus would have been to carry on as normal.

There is nothing overblown about dying from a virus, having sever body damage as to require organ replacement. or long term disabling damage to the body that remains for a life time.
Sure numbers with science drive action but what we do as preventative actions drive those numbers down...
As RobertDyck said "53% of people infected show no symptoms at all. But they spread the disease"
We have gotten both wrong and the high number of dead show this....

Virtual Keystone has this to say about her:
Dr. Yan received her MD degree from XiangYa Medical College of Central South University (China), and PhD from Southern Medical University (China). Her research interests include investigations of infectious diseases or inflammation via different animal models. Her research has recently focused on study of universal influenza vaccine, cross-reactive antibodies and cellular immunology.
Here's a link to some of her recent research:
I still want to know what "proof" she actually has, if any at all.

Excess deaths during the COVID crisis have not been atypical for a strong flu season. And the crisis is now over in European countries and is close to being over in the US.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=you … UvFhIFzaac
Whilst all deaths are sad, we would not normally see this much hysteria, nor would we disrupt society to the extent that we have, in a vain attempt to protect people from flu. One has to wonder what makes this different.
So far, none of the protective measures deployed against COVID have had any real benefit in reducing mortality rates. Yet they have made a bonfire of the economy.

The study reported at the link below examined lung fluid samples from infected Covid patients.
The data was processed using computers, and the researchers (appear to) think they have found a reaction on the part of the body of some patients that accounts for several of the symptoms reported. Naturally, efforts are under way to try to find a counter to the proposed reaction, but results are not yet conclusive ..

Of course the body is reacting, it mean increasing the effort to detect that its in the lungs needs to be part of the testing but then what...
What do you treat it with as we have no designer medication to be used for corona and we would have already tried choice that get used for bacterium and other viruses without it helping and a ventilator is the last choice as the lungs fail.
We have reported on patients needing lung transplants to live even after they survive due to the damage. Months after Covid-19 infection, patients report breathing difficulty and fatigue even after 5 months..

For SpaceNut (and others who may be interested) ...
This evening's CSPAN Q&A session featured an interview with the Editor of the Lancet.
This gent is a physician who recently published a book.
However, I am bringing this Q&A show up because the Editor has been at the center of the flow of scientific papers about the virus.
He said that in comparison to the earlier SARS episode where the Chinese took months to reveal they had a problem, this time it only took a month, and they acted rapidly and effectively to distribute information and tissue samples as well as DNA data after that. The Editor said that from his vantage point, criticism of China has been unfair.
In the course of the one hour interview, the Editor reviewed the history of rapid learning that has been going on world wide about the nature of the threat, and various ways to deal with it.
The show is available (as are all such programs) in the CSPAN online library. Just put in a search for Q&A and it should pop right up.

tahanson43206,
The communist Chinese government lied their rear ends of about the virus until what was going on was so blatantly obvious that it was impossible to miss. Their government so richly deserves the criticism it's received for lying to the WHO. If it turns out that it was some kind of bio weapon, there's going to be a lot more than mere criticism that they'll be on the receiving end of.
