Pushing the time schedule to 2024 for a moon landing has Lunar South Pole Atlas as Reference for Mission Planners

But there is a drawback to the moon missions.....

These articles are often manic-depressive.  It sells news, to get ahold of peoples emotional responses.  In this case to suggest a degree of despair to be induced.

I think you should consider the "Wet Lab" potentials that may exist for Starship.  Both as SSTO, and if using Super Heavy.  I anticipate the potential of very rapid gain of potentials in the Earth/Moon subsystem.  That very likely can ultimately accelerate the move on to Mars.

Top NASA Executive Who Handles 2024 Moon Landing Mission Resigns

Mark Sirangelo was appointed as the special assistant to the NASA administrator, Jim Bridenstine six weeks ago.

Soon after this incident, two other individuals who were very close to the situation were pulled out of the NASA headquarters located in Washington

This does not sound good....
