Re: Politics

SpaceNut,

President Trump called MS-13 gang members "animals".  The liberal regressive media just made up the notion or idea that he called all immigrants "animals".  The political propaganda that you reposted was just something they made up to support their partisan ideological talking points.  They don't even care about what President Trump actually said.  If they can possibly convolute any part of what he actually said to further their regressive ideology, then they'll do it.  They're no longer interested in simply reporting news.  If there's nothing to report, they've decided that they'll start making things up.  Nothing much to report doesn't sell any newspapers, increase viewership, or validate their twisted ideology with their political base.

Re: Politics

kbd512, thanks for giving us a run down on your personal experience. i appreciate learning more about you. it is interesting to understand  how you live.

I see in the papers today, more dead kids.

I respect your point of view. Just to be clear though, when the time comes, I'll vote to have the 2nd amendment removed or curtailed. Rail if you want. Just wanted to let you know, one American to another, I will vote to rescind a constitutional right because there is no other alternative to legislate some middle ground.

In our few, brief exchanges, I attempted to find a middle ground. But there isn't. I get it. I respect the passion. When we get counted, and you lose, I'll try not to rub it in your face.

In the mean time, we will always have Mars. Cheers.

clark, do you really think 3/4 of the states are going to support repealing the 2nd amendment?

Re: Politics

The federal army versus a state run malitia of people, it really does not say individuals to form the malitia but of the state to do so as to keep the nation as a republic of states. It was a means to keep state rights for the people of a state.

Re: Politics

Clark,

I seriously doubt you could ever learn anything significant about how I live, or how anyone else lives for that matter, by reading something on the internet.  If you believe you can, then that might be part of your problem.  I've no idea how you live, for example, and it's of little consequence to how anyone else lives.  Believe whatever you wish about that simple truth as you see fit.

Average number of children killed by guns per year: 1,300
Average number of children killed by motor vehicle accidents per year: 2,800
Average number of children killed by Planned Parenthood per year: 328,000

You read about kids who die from guns in the paper because it furthers the criminal agenda of people who think nothing of murdering their own children.  In comparison to firearms, motor vehicle accidents kill more children.  Why are there more concerted efforts to ban private firearms ownership than private motor vehicle ownership?  It can't have anything to do with saving lives.  A private motor vehicle ban would promote a healthy lifestyle and combat climate change.

As far as finding common ground is concerned, you never had any intention of doing that and the fact that you just flat out stated that you'll vote to take away a right afforded to citizens who have never harmed anyone is proof positive of that.  You seem to want to control other peoples' lives so you feel as though you've done something constructive.  The criminals will ignore the new laws in the same way that they ignore the existing laws, but that's an unimportant detail to people proclaiming they know what the solution is.  The people who actually are hurt by curtailing their ability to protect themselves will be the people you say you want to protect, assuming their is no malice in your desire to create more victims who are functionally defenseless because they obey the laws.

The fact that the Bill of Rights, which includes the Second Amendment, has never been altered pretty clearly demonstrates that your desire to repeal said amendment is not shared by a majority of Americans.  Your desire to rub the loss of a constitutional right in someone's face demonstrates a profound lack of maturity.

My answer to speech I disagree with is more speech explaining why other ideas are bad, not silencing those who express different ideas.  I also think that our loss of constitutionally protected rights won't stop with 2A.  The Founders never had computers or the internet, so by the same faulty logic only street corner soap boxing and printing presses should be constitutionally protected free speech.  If The Founders could never have imagined how firearms that they had personally tested would be widely available in the future and potentially misused, then there's no way that they could've known that something like the internet would ever exist.

No cow is so sacred to me that it can't be slaughtered on the alter of real progress and a consistent position on murder from liberals would be change that I can believe in.  If the liberal regressives in this once great country are willing to stop murdering their own children before the "magic" of vaginal expulsion happens, stop demanding that other people pay for their ignorant "lifestyle choices", and quit advocating for the murder of anyone with a different opinion, as neither murdering your own children or people who disagree with you nor forcing other people pay for your decisions has ever been a constitutionally protected right or principle so far as I'm aware, then I'd be perfectly willing to give up all of my guns.  I wouldn't need them since the people committing the crimes would be too busy taking care of their "lifestyle choices".  Deal?  Until then, I'll support their "right to choose" if they support my "right to choose".  That seems pretty fair to me.

If we could do that, then we'd never need to admit another immigrant for as long as the world keeps turning.  We'll have new Americans coming out the wazoo.  Hehe.  Apologies over crushing your dreams of overrunning the US with foreign invaders and for slashing the list of welfare recipients to vote for Democrats, SpaceNut.  sad

Re: Politics

kbd512, no need to capitalize my name. i am not a proper noun. i am all that you say i am. i am all that you think i am.

you clearly have strong positions that are unassailable, even though you pay lip service to being open to other points of view. i get it. you appear to want a horse swap. my thousands of aborted fetuses for your glock. quite the trade you make. whatever god you pretend to pray to must cry. but on behalf of the millions of women out there, thanks for the quid pro quo you appear to engage in.

i've attempted to find common ground. though i marked you as troll in this thread, i attempted to answer your questions sincerely. your response and reaction since only demonstrates a shallow conceit you pretend at.

i know as much about you as you choose to share. i know as much hypocrisy in your life as you share. if and when a vote comes to repeal the second amendment, i will vote for repeal. if you want to take up common cause against cars, more power too you, you will not need to over turn an amendment to do so.

We appear to agree on Mars, but not on this. Good luck in life, and with your wife's family immigrating to the united states.

Terraformer, i am not a politician. i cannot predict the future, but i've made calls in the past based on the analysis of the data at hand, and been right more often than not. I place a repeal/modification of the second amendment within the next 10 years at a 70% probability. Not a very sexy prediction, granted, but based on current trends and political timing, realistic.

I plan to be around in 2028, so I'll eat crow then and there.

clark,

i know kung-fu

I don't understand it, but since you seem to want me to stop capitalizing your user name, I will oblige.  Whether or not you think of yourself as "a proper person" should have no bearing on how I choose to capitalize forum user names, but it's not a big deal to me.  I really don't care how someone writes my forum user name as long as it's apparent who a response was directed towards.

StUpId K3yB0@rD!

MY CAPS LOCK KEY SEEMs...  Oh wait, it's working again.  Close call.

Could you possibly make an effort to use capitalization at the beginning of your sentences so it's easier to read what you wrote?

Thanks

common ground and other things liberals have no intention of finding

You want me to give up my guns and I'm willing to do that, but I want liberals to adopt a consistent position on theft and murder and you're completely unwilling to even consider the details of that deal.  Unless your idea of deal making is that you take things from other people you have no right to take without giving anything in return, then you'll have to do a little bit better than that.

Normally, diplomacy or negotiations requires that both parties get something in return for relinquishing something they wish to keep.  If liberals want me to give up my guns, then I've already stated what I want in return.  A consistent position on theft and murder is not an unreasonable request to make from a group of people who constantly advocate for the theft of things they've not earned and the murder of people they disagree with when they want me to surrender something that I could reasonably use to prevent the murder of my family members.

There's a fair degree of certainty that if my family requires protection from someone else, or a group of someones, that neither you nor the Police will be around when needed.  I already know how four against one works in a real street fight when everyone involved just doesn't give a damn.  Somehow I lived through my youth, but certain parts of it weren't very pretty.  It's great that you've lead a such a sheltered life and I envy you that, but your experience is not universal.

the "g" word

I'm an atheist, so I don't pray to any god(s).  On rare occasion I've been known to pay homage to the porcelain god, but that's a whole different form of prayer and not one that I recommend to anyone.  I detest all religion equally, especially ones that involve barfing, whether we're talking about omnipotent sky wizards or all-powerful governments.  As long as they don't try to get me to buy into their nonsense, I could care less about what they believe.  I have no use for the Thought Police or Pre-Crime Unit.

More civilians were murdered by religious nuts and their own governments in the 20th century than rednecks with guns ever thought about killing, much less actually tried.  The total number of deaths incurred aren't even close, and that's just a sad fact that no liberal rewriting of the history books will ever change.  Disarming the same group of people who were previously rape / robbery / murder victims will never improve their odds of survival, but the point is lost on you.

how to think and how to behave

I make my decisions based upon logic and past experience.  To that end, unless every woman of child bearing age in America is getting raped on a routine basis, in which case there should be no more men roaming the streets, then at some point anyone who is afforded the privileges of an adult needs to be more selective about who they choose to have sex with.  The US federal government doesn't need to provide my tax money for post-coitus realizations that sex leads to children and the man that the woman decided to sleep with after she decided to get drunk or stoned out of her mind is a world class a-hole who won't be around to raise children with her.  Women have lots of power in this regard.  They can and should choose who they sleep with based upon their ability and willingness (very important) to raise children with that person.

compromise offered and never even considered

If liberals in this country, regressive or truly liberal in the classical definition of the word, start taking a consistent position on theft and murder, then I don't feel the need to be armed.  At that point, we have a society where 99% of the populace applies a bit of baseline critical thinking, just plain old common sense by any other name, that overrides some of the less civilized aspects of human behavior.  We'll always have criminals and your magical thinking victim disarmament solution won't have the effect you want it to, as evidenced by all the dead bodies in the "gun free zones".  The "no guns in schools" thing has worked so well in schools that you think it's time we should make all of America a "gun free zone".  Feel free to studiously ignore the results since it doesn't agree with your ideology.

zoolander's center for kids who can't insult good

I presume this was another attempt at a personal attack rather than an actual argument, but it doesn't make much sense:

"your response and reaction since only demonstrates a shallow conceit you pretend at."

I'm being accused of pretending to display a shallow conceit?

I didn't even rate being accused of actually displaying shallow conceitedness, or maybe even deep conceitedness?

What is this?  A center for ants!?  How can we be expected to teach children to learn how to insult if they can't even fit inside the building?

weak sauce

I see no serious attempts at logically valid arguments from the other side of this issue, just the usual assortment of wildly distorted and emotion-filled propaganda, threats, accusations, and insults.  That's why it's impossible to have a dialogue with liberals over much of anything.  They've never been interested in having any, just taking things from people without paying for them or killing people they disagree with.  I suppose this is to expected from people who have low conscientiousness, high openness, and issues with recognizing boundaries.

Oh well, I tried.

Well this is the world we are in as Border Patrol agent detains women for speaking Spanish at Montana gas station

Ana Suda and Mimi Hernandez — both U.S. citizens — were chatting in Spanish as they went to buy eggs and milk around midnight Wednesday in Havre, a small town about 35 miles from the Canadian border. Suda said that's when a border patrol agent overheard them.

"He asked us where we were born, so I looked at him and I said, 'Are you serious?'"
"Ma'am, the reason I asked you for your ID is because I came in here, and I saw that you guys are speaking Spanish, which is very unheard of up here,"

Then again it could be more like this out come for a supossed illegal crossing.
Border Patrol agent fatally shoots female migrant

A Border Patrol agent shot and killed a female migrant while patrolling the border town of Rio Bravo, Texas, late Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The agent was responding to reports of activity in the town nearly 12 miles south of Laredo when he encountered a group of migrants who he said beat him with two-by-fours, according to a statement released by the Border Patrol.

Re: Politics

Some more tilting at windmills with more executive orders... back in the turn of the last centuries workers were mistreated and unions were formed to correct this but while they did what was intended the nation would say its over grown the usefullness at least in someways but has done little for the rest of the nation....

Trump takes aim at federal bureaucracy with new executive orders altering civil service protections

U.S. government’s 2.1 million employees

President Trump issued three executive orders Friday aimed at overhauling the federal bureaucracy by making it easier to fire poor performers, sharply curtailing the amount of time federal employees can be paid for union work and directing agencies to negotiate tougher union contracts.

One of the executive orders, which allows employees accused of misconduct to be fired more easily, expands on legislation that Congress passed last year to bring more accountability at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

“President Trump is attempting to silence the voice of veterans, law enforcement officers, and other frontline federal workers through a series of executive orders intended to strip federal employees of their decades-old right to representation at the worksite,” the American Federation of Government Employees, the largest federal employee union, said in a statement.

Trump signs executive orders cracking down on employee unions

“These executive orders are a direct assault on the legal rights and protections that Congress has specifically guaranteed to the 2 million public-sector employees across the country who work for the federal government.” “The official time is specifically used for representation of our people -- like for dealing with sexual harassment cases, racial discrimination, retaliation against an employee that’s a whistle-blower, health and safety, reasonable accommodations for employees that have disabilities,” said James Price Jr., government employees director for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, which represents about 120,000 federal employees. Supreme Court of Justice Neil Gorsuch, who’s expected to vote with the court’s conservative majority next month to ban public sector union fees, making the entire public sector “right-to-work.”

A Right to Work law guarantees that no person can be compelled, as a condition of employment, to join or not to join, nor to pay dues to a labor union.

What a dummy, as we already have that right?

Re: Politics

So Mexico is socialist????

Spanish, not English, is the most all-American language and has been for centuries

Is it dangerous to speak Spanish in public in Trump's America?

Such open, ugly bigotry seems like the new normal for Latinos, and statistics are starting to back that up.

Now while I can see the second language being spanish in the southern states, while I can see the coasts being niether french or spanish but here in the north it would be french to which we should be speaking english as the primary and not the other way around.....

I can also see this getting more out of control as the number of non european nations come to america and the english language is not a requirement....America is becoming lost....as culture fades....

Re: Politics

The threat of children being seperated from there parents that cross illegally have had another effect in that  The U.S. lost track of immigrant children last year. Here's why people are outraged now.

750x422

In the past week, outrage about treatment of children taken into U.S. custody at the Southwest border has reached a fever pitch, exploding in a barrage of tweets and calls to action with the hashtags #WhereAreTheChildren and #MissingChildren. Reports of federal authorities losing track of nearly 1,500 immigrant children in their custody. Scathing criticism over children being taken from their migrant parents at the border.

Of course the government is claiming that they should not be held accountable..not surprising..

Health and Human Services officials have argued it is not the department's legal responsibility to find those children after they are released from the care of the Office of Refugee Resettlement, which falls under HHS's Administration for Children and Families.

America’s missing children: Over 1,000 immigrant minors have vanished since October

What 2017...

most of the children were taken in after being found alone on America's southwestern border, having usually fled from domestic violence, gang violence or drug cartels from Central American nations like El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. The concern is that the missing children could have been turned into unpaid laborers or are being used by human traffickers.

The H.H.S. have the responsibility to track these children so they aren’t trafficked or abused as if they were Americans.....

Now Trump is laying blame to everyone but himself for his directives...
Trump blames Democrats for his policy of separating migrant families at border. The White House is on a campaign to falsely blame Democrats for the Trump administration's own decision to separate children from their parents.

"Speak American"? Many of us saw the video of the New York lawyer threaten to call ICE because a restaurant spoke Spanish to some of their customers. "Speak American"? Would that be Ojibwa, Cree, Iroquoian, or Algonquin?

Lest we forget Navaho, soiux and many more I think I posted a 13 nation map for the US to which America is in trouble if it can not correct the culture which when the nation was founded, the language to which the constitution is written in. They knew that culture was at stake if we did not keep unified as a nation and not be seperate ones. They colonies all knew this even with the seperate languages of each when they joined in against the British..

A good moderator warned me to stay out of chat, and I suppose I should, but I will do this much.

Perhaps I am a "Vespucci", not an "Amerigo". smile

The peoples from the Mediterranean and Middle East speak with forked tongue.  Ugg!
They tend to write books that say they own everything because God likes it that way.

It is a fairly clever skill, which is rather unfair.

But....

So, actually us hear northern Euro-pee-ins, aint necessarily so much that.  And by the way 500 years are up, the coin turns.  (Figure it out).

So, please consider not drinking the Kool-Aid, and please quite offering it to the children.

There are quite a list of mythologies that you guys subscribe to just because someone told you it was so.  I was once asked "Would you jump off a cliff, if someone told you to?".  At that time probably I would have.  But not now.

Oh by the way my bluish eyes come from a dark skinned hunter gatherer in western Europe most likely, and my pale skin from the middle east.

Blue Eyes, Dark Skin:

Curious that the Native Americans, never invented the wheel.  Well they probably had no use for it.  However their relatives in Eurasia, did bring the wheel from the Steppes along with Horses I think.  They did have a use for it.

If you ask me I might tell you what some of the other flavors of Kool-Aid are that you are drinking.  Maybe.

......

Facts are, I am a "Native" of planet Earth.

Just because a so called First Nations people are specifically native to North America, would not prohibit them from living somewhere else, and so, it would be nice if I were afforded the same consideration here.  It is all imaginary lines after all.

smile

Oh and by the way English is a most efficient language as per time to communicate an idea.  Perhaps the most efficient.  And it happens to be a partial bridge between the Mediterranean, and Northern European cultures, and so contains concepts from both.  That is why a Germanic or Latin language would be less of a bridge than English.

I predict that something descendant from English will continue quite deep into future time.

Done.

Re: Politics

SpaceNut,

Unfortunately, Mexico is a place where the government doesn't respect its own people.  And no, we don't need to import any socialist nonsense from foreign countries by people who believe in the same.  There's nothing "great" about socialism except for the number of people it kills or enslaves and the speed with which it utterly destroys the economic prosperity of the target country.

People speak Spanish here in Texas all the time and I assure you that nobody cares or thinks it's unusual.  If a border patrol agent who lives in North Dakota has lived there for 30+ years without ever hearing anyone speak a word of Spanish in public, or any other language but English, then he or she might be a little suspicious of what's going on when they overhear a conversation in Spanish, Swahili, or Pashtu.  It has nothing to do with any bigotry on the part of the border patrol agent and everything to do with the fact that we train Police Officers to automatically assume the very worst of absolutely everyone they meet.  Anyone who is grossly ignorant of how our policing forces are indoctrinated will automatically assume it's bigotry and racism, ignoring the fact that the parents of that agent who was questioning those two women are probably also from Mexico.

Police Officers are trained to pick up on non-verbal cues from people and I know this because I helped provide some of that training.  They're not trained to prance around on eggshells while they do their jobs to accommodate the "feelings" of the people they interact with.  Sometimes they do or say things they probably shouldn't, but that'd be because they're human, we train them to think everyone is out to get them (because we never know ahead of time who is and who isn't), sometimes people really are out to harm them (which is why they're suspicious of everyone absent training that only reinforces that belief), and every so often one of them has a bad day (again, they're human and have all the attributes of a human, to include making mistakes).

I'm not defending what happened.  I'm defending the training we give them and how, SOMETIMES it produces undesirable results.  If you have a better idea about how to train these people, then you let me know and I'll start applying it if the ideas or concepts are even remotely practicable in the real world.  I hate to burst your bubble, but these people have never been trained to be bigoted and that's just a fact.  If any of them are, then that's something they brought with them because they're human.

I don't train people to care about skin color or language.  I train them to identify behaviors or events that are unusual in the environment they operate in.  Sometimes, the fact that a behavior or event is unusual means nothing.  Most of time, obviously not all the time, it means something shady is going on.  It may or may not be illegal, but that's not for the Police Officer to decide.  It is the duty of all Police Officers to arrest people they suspect have committed a crime and to gather evidence to prosecute the suspected criminal activity.

In a public venue like a supermarket, a Police Officer has the authority to question and detain or arrest anyone they want.  That says absolutely nothing about whether or not the person they questioned, detained, or arrested is guilty of anything whatsoever.  That is for a court of law, aka "the people", to decide.  If the court, not the court of public or media opinion which carries no legal authority, decides that what the officer did was wrong, then that person won't be a Law Enforcement Officer for very long if such behavior is repeated.

I'm from Texas and I grew up around Mexican people and Mexican culture.  At least half the kids I grew up with were either Mexican or Hispanic.  The overwhelming majority of them are the nicest people you'll ever meet.  I don't have anything against people because they're Mexican and never have.  It's a totally lame attempt to divide us so that the very real and very evil socialists can seize power under their new propaganda banner of tolerance and multiculturalism.  America doesn't need to become more like France, Mexico, or Spain.  Our culture is unique and distinct and liberal regressivism and their socialist agenda aside, it's doing at least as well or better than any other culture on the planet.

America is not "lost", but we have real foreign invaders (illegal immigrants) that the regressive wing of the Democrat Party is attempting to substitute for real Americans who hold real American values.  Real American values are not becoming more like the petty socialists from China, Mexico, or Europe.  I know why the Democrat Party doesn't want to enforce our immigration laws and it's quite simple.  The only way Democrats can get enough votes to seize power to transform America into another socialist banana republic is to import foreigners from socialist banana republics who support their agenda.

If socialism was so great, then given the number of times it's been tried there'd be at least one country on this planet that "got it right" that has a booming economy to show for their troubles.  There aren't any and never have been any because socialism is stupid, the people who preach it aren't nearly as smart as they think they are, and it only achieves "equality" by making everyone who lives under it equally stupid and poor.  The people who try it always, forever, and without exception destroy the economy of the country they try it in and kill a lot of people in the process.  Be careful not to trip over all the bodies while you're busy creating utopia.  Thinking people would recognize socialism as the egregiously poor idea it truly is, any time humans are involved.  Let's drop it already so that real progress is possible in the US of A.  All the regressive socialist "code talk" in the world can't fool people like me and you're wasting your time trying.  Whenever you start using a bunch of euphemisms for socialist thinking, I know exactly what you're talking about, even if you don't.

Explaining this to people who are obsessed with their own ideologically motivated bigotry and socialist tendencies is somewhat tiring, but well worth it for the wider audience.  Believe whatever pleases you, but know that everything going on inside your head has about as much to do with reality as horse carriages do with flying cars.  Since you're obviously unaware, America does not belong to President Trump, former President Obama, nor any other politician who ever lived.  President Trump doesn't own you, me, nor anyone else, and he for damn sure doesn't own America.  America belongs to its citizens, as it always has, the only ones who can grant our government the authority to do what it does since government has no authority without our consent.  President Trump was elected to counter the socialist agenda and I think he's doing a great job, as evidenced by the incessant attacks from the people promoting socialist agendas.  It's also worth noting that illegal immigrants aren't citizens and have no rights here nor legal standing to even be here, despite any claims to the contrary.

In other far more important news, today is Memorial Day.  When I typed in "Memorial Day 2018", I thought I might see something about our fallen and the stories of their service to this great nation.  Sadly, due to the immaturity of our media circus clowns, I saw our current Commander-in-Chief's face plastered all over the web page with their latest denunciations of all things related to one man.  Despite their inability to behave like mature adults and focus on something that matters for a single day, we will never forget what you have done for us and what you continue to do as you fight for the ideals of this nation and indeed, humanity itself.  We humbly salute our service men and women who have paid for our ideals with their lives.  Your sacrifices are not in vain and the American people are eternally grateful that such men and women lived.

Here is that map again with regards to the nations of language with in america. It would be expected that those incapable would speak in other languages not in english but that is part of the problem as its says we are not UNITED....

The media circus reported what was said....and other not so horonable actions of self promotion, spending much of the holiday weekend golfing and tweeting attacks once again pointing to his unfounded allegations that a spy was planted in his campaign.

My town honored the fallen yesterday with a better than usual parade as it was the 150th and my family made the trip to the cemetary to set flowers and flags on the veterans of the wifes side from WW1, WW2, Korean and brothers that did serve in Vietnam but they are outside of the ability to visit there final resting place. I can not set anything on my side plots as my father is still living and I know nothing of the past beyond that only can give him honor for who he is.

Here is some more of that patriotic boasting and self promotion
Flattery of President Trump Turns Fatal in Afghanistan

AAxVYmS.img?h=533&w=799&m=6&q=60&o=f&l=f&x=997&y=891

An Afghan man who admired the president so much that he legally named his son Donald Trump has now said he no longer feels safe and has fled Afghanistan. That came three days after another Afghan who helped organize the minting of a gold medal thanking President Trump for his support of Afghanistan was killed by the Taliban, according to police officials in Logar Province and to the insurgents themselves. A third Afghan, also involved in making the medal, said he, too, would flee the country because he no longer felt safe.

So how are we doing with the Taliban?

The aforemath of last years suposed tax cuts is a running of those that had a hand in writing it. Experts in tax policy and financial services issues are always in high demand at lobbying firms. But with the GOP law setting in motion the biggest overhaul of the tax system in a generation, inside knowledge of how the law was drafted is especially prized. Republican aides in Congress who were instrumental in writing the sweeping tax law last year are hitting the exits to take jobs in the lobbying industry. At least a half dozen high-profile GOP staffers have departed or are departing Capitol Hill, swapping jobs in the legislative branch for plum postings at firms like Akin Gump and Squire Patton Boggs. The exile from Congress includes top aides for the House Ways and Means Committee, Senate Finance Committee, and the offices of Sens. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Rob Portman (R-Ohio) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.).

The economy is still in a down slide as a local Care Pharmacy is going out of business with leaked end of being open until the first of the month. Giving no notice to change over to another pharmacy for there perscription. Sure employment signs are plentiful but these are all part time not real hours or benefits not jobs as these are barely above minimum wage.

Re: Politics

SpaceNut,

Afghanistan has been ruled by tyrants for quite some time now.  Until such time as the people who live there all die or all decide that they've had enough of tyrannical dictatorships, nothing will change.  Before the Russians and Americans became involved in Afghanistan, I saw pictures of Afghani women in the 1970's wearing mini skirts well above the knee, high heels, makeup, and reading books in libraries and schools.  They were westernized, even Americanized, with little western involvement.  Google "Afghan women in 1970's" if you don't believe it.

Want to utterly destroy a country and send their people back to the Stone Age?

Get two super powers to give their governments and rebels weapons they have no business having and the entire country will be unrecognizable in less than a generation.  We should have been sending the Russians ammunition by the truck load to fight these clowns, but someone dimwit in the CIA decided they needed to fight the Russians.  People who were aware of what was going on in Russia understood that the Russian economy was imploding.  Not dumb enough?  Apparently not because we ended up spending billions to prevent the Russians from starving after their economy ceased to function.  That wasn't the first time, either.  We had to do the same thing in the 1920's.  Every time someone becomes "concerned" over the "Russian threat", I have a good chuckle over the matter.

Our most recent invasion didn't change anything.  We'd have to stay there for two generations to win hearts and minds (kill off everyone in the Taliban).  The Taliban, and Osama bin Laden, merely moved to neighboring Pakistan because the local governments (warlords, mostly) allow them to continue to operate there.  As long as governments provide safe havens for terrorists, the terrorists will continue to exist and continue to do what they do.  The problems in Afghanistan didn't start when President Trump took office.  He had absolutely nothing to do with what happened there and any attempt to blame him for Afghanistan's problems is a fool's errand.

The economy's most recent turmoil is a result of people buying and making things they don't need, yet again, only to discover there is no buyer or not enough buyers.  We're once again entering into an era where our ability to manufacture new things wildly outstrips demand for new things.  It's an ominous sign of things to come.  I share your concern about where we're headed.

Powerful photo shows Braves fan hold umbrella over JROTC member in the rain at SunTrust Park; The Braves gave a special salute to our service men and women, but one photo from the program captured thousands of hearts

A plaque next to the chair reads, "Since World War I, more than 92,000 American soldiers are unaccounted for. This unoccupied seat is dedicated to the memory of these brave men and woman and to the sacrifices made in serving this country."

"They sacrifice so much for us, we can sacrifice for them too!!!,"

Another sign that patriotism is alive happened when after announcers said there would be no playing of the national anthem Friday at the state Central Section division I softball championship in Clovis, California. Hundreds of fans booed and then broke into a chorus of “The Star-Spangled Banner” ...

Just as quickly as the reinvigorated show of Trump supporter ‘Roseanne’ after a twitter racist tweet the show is no more as it is Canceled by ABC, Network President Says “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, co-star Sara Gilbert said that Barr’s comments do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show.”

There is no place for this and to correct its employees they will recieve from Starbucks anti-bias training: Why the coffee chain has closed 8,000 stores tarbucks was attemping a dramatic move toward racial reconciliation Tuesday as it closed 8,000 stores across the nation for an afternoon of anti-bias training.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection checkpoint along Interstate 93 south NH does its part over the holiday weekend to catch at the Border, feds bust nine suspected illegal immigrants at Memorial Day roadblock on I-93

Earlier this month, a judge ruled that evidence in 16 arrests made last summer by Woodstock police at an Interstate 93 checkpoint set up by CBP was unconstitutionally obtained and could not be used at trial.

In the 14-page order dated May 1, Plymouth District Court Judge Thomas Rappa granted a motion to suppress brought by defendants on the grounds that the searches that yielded the evidence against them — mostly possession of small amounts of marijuana — were done in violation of the New Hampshire Constitution, which, Rappa noted, “governs prosecution of state law in state court.”

I believe that its unlawful to search a vehicle in a yard without a warrant but it would seem legal anywhere else.

Re: Politics

Well we are trying digital ID's so why not do a message license plate as well...what could go wrong with either of these???

Digital license plates that change displays and track your car being tested in California

The Sacramento Bee reports that the city government took delivery last week of 24 Chevrolet Volts equipped with the plates, which are priced at $699 each, but were provided at no cost by the manufacturer, Reviver Auto, for evaluation.

The plates use e-ink screens like e-books, and are equipped with a GPS tracker that can transmit the location of the vehicle. They have a reflective surface, backlighting, weatherproofing and are hardwired to the car.

Reviver Auto says that the technology conforms to the General Data Protection Regulation standards, and that the tracking and display features are controlled by each plate’s owner.

A $7 monthly fee is required, with additional costs for the GPS tracking feature.

One retailer, Galpin Motors in Van Nuys, is offering three-year plans priced at $189 and $279, respectively, plus $99 for installation.

Cars with GPS are already defeated so why would this not also see the same fate.....

Re: Politics

SpaceNut,

Regarding "President Trump's campaign to blame Democrats for separating illegal alien children from their illegal alien parents who bring them here illegally" (post #1583), in point of fact it was the Supreme Court justices, some of them former President Obama appointees, who ruled in 2016 before President Trump ever took office, that illegal alien children were to be remanded to the custody of other family members or the state.  The false premise argument of our criminal liberal regressive media and politicians, who never met a law they actually intended to follow, is that we should just release both the illegal alien parents and their illegal alien children into our society whenever the parents break the law.

In this country, we do not give custody of children to people suspected of felonies.  For example, if you're caught driving recklessly with your children, the Police will stop you, arrest you, and then social services is supposed to give your children to family members if they can find any or state-run foster homes if they can't.  The laws that President Trump is obligated to enforce, which did not originate with his administration, are no different.  The executive branch does not get to pick and choose which laws they enforce.  Congress does not make suggestions for the Executive to execute as they see fit.

I only read and research about 1/10th of the media "stories" (that's all they are in many cases) you post here because so much of it is media propaganda, partisan political opinion, half-truths, and misdirection upon cursory examination.  Liberal media have very active imaginations, but they also seem to have a lot of beachfront property in Arizona that they're trying to sell people who don't do much critical thinking and have even less knowledge about what the laws actually are and how they work.
