State-change engine/generator

Hey everyone. Is there any current work or research on a state-change engine/generator for Mars? One that uses the force water produces when freezing? Mars would be an ideal place for such a device.

Re: State-change engine/generator

Hello Freudslip,
That is an interesting poser... thank you.

An array of Piezoelectric Membranes housed in several Refrigerator Sized Containers
would produce a day-night difference of tremendous force.

Interesting

Piezoelectric Membranes [are a pressure related device to which they are used  in this manner PIEZOELECTRIC MEMBRANE ACOUSTIC DEVICES

I think that you are thinking of a thermoelectric device that would creates voltage in a pellitier device..
