Interesting article about how we might be able to reset our biological clocks, which would obviously be a great benefit for any long duration space mission - or living on Mars: http://www.bio.com/newsfea....&Page=1

The article is exciting, but per young and old blood, my understanding is that young blood does not hold special help, rather old blood holds poisons.
So, for blood as I recall just removing some old blood and replacing it with plasma does the trick. At least that is what I am aware of.
And so perhaps spinal fluid-Brain similar.
It suggests that either some producer of toxins occurs for many people as they age, or some remover of toxins declines in efficiency.
So, this is really exciting as it may be possible to compensate for either of those, either shut down the toxin producer, or augment the toxin remover.
Evolution apparently has not considered the continuation of the old to be of value in allowing patterns to propagate. It may be however some human lines have kept their elders healthy as they may be of some value to the survival of the young. It might be possible. Or it is just a lottery.
Anyway, really exciting news.
So, it may reduce some types of dementia, or at least hold them at bay for a while.
Done.
