Now, my list for (hopefully) top scientific breakthroughs of 2008.

1. Ionosphere breaking is worked out to use a planets Ionosphere to slow down a craft drastically before re-entry.

2. Improved Ion propulsion.

3. Scientists discover how to make viruses that always attack cancer cells, not human cells, and destroy them.

4. Hoverboards are invented (probably using Ions).

Those are the four I could come up with.
