This thread is about time travel (obviusly.)

Time is a measure of how far an atom or energetic body will or can travel based on the bodies energy that it produces and has exerted on it. The less energy a body has exerted against it, the faster the body will travel in a medium. Each medium will have certain factors that reduce the time of body.

I have a simple way to build a time machine, its very easy relatively speaking that is. All you have to do is build a vast powerful computer and get it to simulate Earth's past. Take any era we know about, load all those facts into the computer and then get it to make up stuff about all the facts we don't know about, then you simulate human beings within that "Past" so they can "experience" time travel and if the simulation is good enough, they wouldn't be able to tell the difference between that and the actual past. We would require the ability to simulate human minds, and perhaps the ability to upload and download actual human minds into real and simulated human bodies, but compared to manipulating the masses of stars, this is easy stuff.

Except you haven't travelled in time, and you don't know whether the made up stuff ever happened or not, and you'd have to reset the sim to zero, let it run, find the Earth bits in the vast multitude of stars, the ones that are most similar to actual history, and even then wouldn't know which bit is correct. And you'd have to record every bit of data, meaning you have to conquer the entire universe first and manipulate the fabric of space/time to run your computer, which would mean you are that advanced there is no need for the computer as you can already go back in time. QED.

If you went back in time and returned to the present, how could you ever prove that you went back in time? If the past didn't contain you in it, you could never go back in time without creating a time paradox, because by placing you in the past you are changing history, and if you assume you can't change history, then the only way not to have a time paradox is not to allow time travel, but if you allow time travel then you must be allowed to change history because you would then be placing you in the past where you weren't before. If you returned to the present, then as far as anyone was concerned you were always in the past and their was no before history, it was always that way. If you change the past you change the present so that it is consistent with it, as far as the original present is concerned, you might as well have left the Universe because you've apparently just left it. If you could somehow return to the original presnt you left, it would be like you just visited a parallel universe that resembled the past except with the addition of yourself as you visited it.
With that said, you might as well make a computer simulation of the past and interact with it, because it would make no difference if you did that that if you interacted with some other parallel history that is not your own.
