Re: Project Mars - The Movie

After reading Wernher Von Braun's Science Fiction novel, I got to wondering what if they made a movie out if it. They did Sky Captian and the World of Tommorow as an example of Retro Science Fiction, what if they were to tackle the more technically accurate Project Mars - A Technical Tale? I would love movie going audiences to see this one on the silver screen and on their DVD players. Basically the idea is to stay true to the novel as it was written by Dr Von Braun, including his vision of the future, his characters, his space ships, and his version of Mars, while using the latest special effects to make it look as real and as authentic as possible given the previous perimeters of the setting and Story.

Basically its a world set in the 1980s in the aftermath of World War III, The World is United under one government, and a space telescope discovers signs of intelligent life on Mars. The computers are still vacuum tube affairs, the radios are also, have limited range and require lots of power, there are giant Sirius rockets with reusable muliple stages that return to Earth and a resuable winged orbiter on top, there is a space station orbiting the Earth, 200 feet in diameter, orbing once every three hours perpendicular to the ecliptic.
