Can Donald Trump build an Antarctic Hotel?

What do you think? Is there a market for this?

Re: Can Donald Trump build an Antarctic Hotel?

Why would anyone want to stay in one,  when the cruise ship is just as comfortable,  and the stay time-before-it-gets-boring is short?

Re: Can Donald Trump build an Antarctic Hotel?

Well the rules state no cruise ships because of the chance they'll get stuck in ice and spill oil and fuel into the ocean when they get crushed. Since cruise ships are out, people will need a place to stay, How about a Trump Hotel at McMurdo? McMurdo has everything a tourist might want to see including an active volcano and dry valleys!

Re: Can Donald Trump build an Antarctic Hotel?

There are cruise ships that visit the Antarctic. Just Google Antarctic cruise.

Re: Can Donald Trump build an Antarctic Hotel?

They still might get stuck in ice and have their hulls crushed and spill their fuel contents into the Ocean as a result. Besides, its stupid that everything is run by the government or on a cost plus contract at this base, they've hemmed it in with government rules and regulations so that there is no room for economic growth or expansion at McMurdo! If you can have a SpaceX building rockets, how about private development of Antarctica, enough of this socialist garbage? When are we going to stop pretending to be the Soviet Union when it comes to Antarctica?

Re: Can Donald Trump build an Antarctic Hotel?

theres one that travels from france very frequently that is well trusted. i cant imagine trump cares too much for antarctica, if we're being honest. on a small scale socialism works well in places like antarctica. if youre so concerned about oil spilling into the ocean, how come its ok to stick a hotel which will use fuels and generate harmful tourism (which isnt even allowed...)

It will be less of a problem once all those pesky glaciers all melt... NOT...

Antarctica’s White Desert camps are the ultimate escape from civilization
https://globetrender.com/2020/04/03/whi … ntarctica/

Whichaway is situated in East Antarctica’s Schirmacher Hills, on a largely ice-free rock plateau that is home to more than 100 freshwater lakes. For those that assume Antarctica is a barren, frozen wasteland, Whichaway provides an extraordinary reminder that the continent is home to a unique biosphere. Petrels, terns and skuas are regularly seen overhead, and Adelie penguins nest a few hundred metres away from the camp.

The conditions there are relatively mild – at least by Antarctic standards – with daily average temperatures during the season of -5ºC.
