I would really like to see a sattelite server in orbit that would contain all the info humanity has collected over millenia. This store would be accessible through hidden consoles in bunkers all over the world, so even if a nuclear war or some other disaster dumped humanity back in the stone age we'd still have all the data to climb back up again. Consider this as an analogy.

We've been climbing the cliff of progress for thousands of years. We have occasional points stuck it that we would fall to but they are to far below. Launching the sattelite would be putting in a bolt that goes higher with us so we go up but can't fall down.
