*Yes, I did notice this star and Venus close last evening and hoped perhaps we'd be treated to an occultation.  That's not to be, apparently.

Nunki is a blue giant, 224 light years distant, 5 times wider and 3300 times more luminous than Sol.

To receive the same heat, an Earth circling Nunki would have to be located beyond the orbit of Pluto.
