Re: Spirit/MER-A has been successfully launched

I was so pissed that I missed the actual launch!! Man, I still can't get over it. I meant to record it, but I just forgot, and I was in traffic when it occured.

Grrr. sad

But hey, it went smoothly, and I'm so happy. NASA is doing the right thing by being very cautious with regards to these babies (this mission was delayed three times if I recall correctly).

BTW, I love the names they've given them. The little girl who chose them chose them well.

I am going to try really hard not to miss the next launch. I'm going to go see if I can't find a copy of the lunch at NASAs site.

Some useful links while MER are active. Re: Spirit/MER-A has been successfully launched

Grr, You guys who live in America are lucky.
In New Zealand I will never witness a rocket launch. sad

Though, apparently NZ has a space agency, lol, but the only thing they appear to do is a monthly talk at the observatory.

BTW, what are the names given to the rovers?

Re: Spirit/MER-A has been successfully launched

"Spirit" (MER-A) and "Opportunity" (MER-B)

Josh, go to the JPL website, a replay of the launch is available.
